Rumored as a late round pick for the Pats. Phenomenal measurables and highlights. Mediocre production.

Wait a minute! We signed... Mark Harrison!?

:rocker::rocker::rocker::rocker::rocker:

So I heard he trashed a hotel room at the combine? What a cool kid.

you heard half the story. Nuk was supposedly there last. Mark left before him. I said he was a sleeper for the Pats in the draft thread. Physically he's everything you want in a receiver but his route running needs work. Unfortunately he had some pretty poor QB's throwing him the ball for the past 3 years.

You don't need to be Einstein to play football, but every school but Rutgers stayed away from recruiting him because of grades, and even when he showed up to campus at Rutgers, he wasn't eligible to play. He would have had a lot more scholarships had his grades been decent.

That being said, I'm sure schools down south have just as many questionable students, but it does make you wonder how he's going to handle the Patriots' playbook.

How does his Wonderlic compare with our other prospects at WR?

This kid was a late round prospect. As previously said, great measureables but never put it all together. He signed with the Bears after the draft but failed their physical. He broke his foot recently so I assume it's related to that. OTG or Maxman can probably talk a lot more about this kid.

Like I said: GREAT MEASUREABLES

Since 2005 only 4 WR have weighed at least 224 lbs. run a sub-4.40 forty, vertical of at least 37" and a broad jump over 10 1/2 feet.

Those 4 WR are Calvin Johnson, Jonathan Baldwin, Mark Harrison and Matt Jones

He's a physical freak, so that's cool, but generally if a guy with his measurables can't get drafted, there's a pretty good reason. In any case, I doubt he sticks, but can't hurt to bring him in. Didn't have enough Rutgers guys, anyway.

He didn't get drafted because he suffered a stress fracture earlier in the year, I believe.

From what I here he gets the dropsies a lot

I read he ran a 4.46 ? Though 4.46 is still pretty damned fast for someone 6'3" 231. The highlights I watched, this guy looks like a beast. Makes you wonder why he wasn't drafted. Production can't be the only reason. Look at Stephen Hill, I think he caught 28 passes his junior season.

Not surprising. I was more surprised he wasn't signed by the Pats right after the draft.

He's a potential bigger Hernandez backup. Beat H in all those combine type #s. What Hernandez did readily that Harrison will likely struggle with is instantly grok the offense his 1st summer camp.

Chris Price:
Hernandez ran a 4.64 40, a 33-inch vertical leap and a 9-foot, 3-inch broad jump.
Harrison ran a 4.46 40-yard dash, a 38.5-inch vertical leap and a 10-foot, 9-inch broad jump.

Funny fact, he did the same thing in the NFL combine...in his hotel room. :D

One of the possible reasons why that he was an udfa?

He's probably contractually banned from ever staying at the Renaissance Hotel in Patriot Place.
