Report: Brandon Spikes Not at Voluntary OTAs, Will Report for Minicamp in June | New England Patriots | NESN.com

Missing from minicamp, Jeff Howe seems to believe there is nothing wrong with him, but we will see him for Minicamp.

Are the Patriots hiding Brandon spikes? Is he bulking up/down in order to move to the D-line? Does he think he deserves a new contract? Did he tear his ACL playing pickup basketball? Is this just another desperate offseason topic?

Its highly unusual that spikes would be missing, after all the Patriots conduct the most involuntary voluntary OTAs in the league.

First off. No they are not hiding him. Never heard of such a thing.

I would say that it could be nothing and just be a veteran player who wants to stay home for the offseason but I think it would seem to be a sign of some sort of issue of some sort either contract related or whatever else and Spikes is making a statement.

Maybe it is as simple as he was excused...

He's holding out !! Maybe I will be used as an anonymous source now for the Spikes hates the Patriots stories that I'm sure will be a center piece of the summer coverage of this team.

I doubt there is anything big going on here in a good or bad sense. Maybe BB said I won't be pissed if you miss these optional activities if you lay off the twitter ;)

Could he be dead? I bet he's dead and they're covering it up. MURDERGATE!

Could you provide some more excellent artwork to Kontra depicting Spikes' Transformation?

Moving him to DE would be a good move IMO, just have him & Ninkovich swap positions.

But this is more likely he's nursing some injury or the team said he didn't need to be present.

Erika Leigh is reporting that Spikes is slimming down for a conversion to CB. I believe it.

I don't think Spikes has ever been in a 3 point stance in his entire life.

Spikes has pretty good hands, bet they're moving him to WR. Would give them that big physical reciever they need.

Jenkins will finally be able to assume a less embarrassing nickname – LIFTS – "Least I’m Faster Than Spikes".

Spikes is one of my favorite players on the Pats. But he seems to be a bit of a headcase/diva.

With Jamie Collins now on the team, and Dont'a Hightower.... Spikes seems expendable.

Trade him while you can still get some value? Or let him find his way into the doghouse and lose him at the end of next year.

He knows what "voluntary" means.

I think Twitter was the only thing that tethered Spikes to reality, and since he quit in March he has most likely lost his mind.*

*This is all baseless speculation. Or, in other words, this is something the media would report as fact.
