looks like stallworth's 2013 season has ended before it has begun.

@ErikaLeigh
FA Wide out Donte' Stallworth was having dinner with his family Friday evening when he reached for the potato salad and in the process, dislocated his arm. He was then struck by lightening and shortly after, was attacked by a grizzly bear and then by a regular bear.

A guy who gets injured/electrocuted/set on fire in a routine hot air balloon crash is obviously injury prone. Patriots should only be signing sturdier players who can withstand such circumstances without sustaining nagging injuries.

"routine" and "hot air balloon crash" strike me as oxymoronic...

Happens all the time. The really tough guys just rub dirt on it and get back in the game ...

After all, the patriots cannot tolerate players with serious injury risks????

Bring Stallworth into camp. He had one of the longest Patriot pass plays last year in a crucial game. If he's healthy, of course bring him in. Banging on these rookies to produce vs a guy who has produced, just bring him in to TC.

Gronk says "Hey!"

Time for Stallworth to coin the term 'Made of paper.'

Heh!
Ironic that aging, near social security Stallworth is now healthier than Gronk, Edelperson, probably Glass IR and several other Pats in their 20s.

The best part about all of these electricity jokes you're making is that your username is "Zeus." Well done.

Not happening. Rather keep a younger guy with more upside. Even if he already knows the playbook, at best he'd be our #5 guy. His one good trait- his speed is all but gone and the guy seems to find disaster every where. I guess you could argue his knowledge of the playbook and his veteran leadership (which is surprising to say) given BB's raves about his maturity and growth as a person, maybe. But again, would rather just stick with the youth movement and keep someone with more upside. We already know what Stallworth gives us- mediocre depth.

He's worth inviting to camp. I don't think it would be that hard for Stallworth to beat out Jones or Jenkins, if he's fully healthy. If not it doesn't hurt for the competition value alone.

Just go with it. Resistance is futile when he's amping up his game. :D

Actually, resistance is NOT futile, in this case. ;)

I agree with your thoughts that it can't necessarily be a bad thing to have Stallworth as a competitor, at least for training camp.

I do think that some are undervaluing the potential that Donald Jones can bring as a young receiver though. I couldn't personally see Stallworth beating out D.Jones unless Jones simply wasn't picking up the system or playbook, because Jones has a lot more upside at this point of his career.

Like another poster said, we already know what we are getting with Stallworth, and that's basically nothing more than an emergency player at the bottom of the depth chart.

as soon as Stallworth was cleared medically, he tripped and fell into a strait jacket, whereupon the ambulance attendants rushed him off to Shady Lane Sanitarium...Dr. Chronic diagnosed him as paranoid...when Stallworth protested and demanded a second opinion, the Doc said "you have terrible taste in clothes, too"...I don't know about that...I thought he looked quite fetching dressed in white...

It's camp.

We can't have enough deep threat WR wannabes at this point.

As much as I'm pulling for Stallworth to show he's got more in the tank though, I'd still be pulling for the younglin's to beat him in camp

I say bring Stallworth in. Dobson,Boyce and Jones can get better competition from Stallworth than from guys like Kamar Aiken. We need to push these rookies.

I think I might rather have Branch instead seeing as this will likely be more of a camp mentor type role. But I am ok with either or both just hope that the guys we drafted and signed win the jobs.

DA
Jones
Dobner
Boyce
and Edelman

should be the 5 coming out of camp. (and at the very least it is a deeper group than last year).

We all love Deion, but really, at this point with his speed completely gone I don't see him ever getting open against an NFL opponent ever again.
