Lots of speculation he comes back to New England.

Was he released or put on IR last year?

Somehow he might be able to compete with Jones, Hawkins and Jenkins.

Belichick is looking to go with the young WRs. But...

He may turn to Lloyd and Stallworth from his "Shadow Roster", if absolutely needful.

Put on IR. He was injured right when he was crossing the goal line on that long touchdown against the Texans.

Yup, remember the play, just didn't remember what they ended up doing with him.

Great pass from TFB, great catch and fantastic route with YAC :)

Too bad it ended up so quickly for him. :(

Glad he's alright.

I'd be quite happy to see him in camp, competing for a slot. If he wins out, all the better. If he doesn't, then it's still all good and I'm pretty sure he'd be stashed on the shadow roster for emergencies.

This.

The team wants the kids to play. Stallworth- while decent doesn't represent the future.

I think I might rather have Branch instead seeing as this will likely be more of a camp mentor type role. But I am ok with either or both just hope that the guys we drafted and signed win the jobs.

DA
Jones
Dobner
Boyce
and Edelman

should be the 5 coming out of camp. (and at the very least it is a deeper group than last year).

I would rather Stallworth make this team over Jenkins, and sadly at this point Deion Branch as well. Stallworth has a great attitude some life experiences to share with the youngsters as far as the mentorship goes, and more threatening speed than either of the aforementioned. He would also be only the second WR on the roster that has actually caught a pass from Brady in his career.

yes ... this ... his value is as a straight line deep threat and we have that in a younger version.

It's a pretty sad state of affairs when Old Man Stallworth can get back on the field before "young" man Gronk...

good shadow roster candidate.

Hopefully he'll be invited back to compete for a spot.

I'd like to see him back here. If he's given a chance to compete, I could definitely see him making the roster. He's much better than Jenkins.

Indeed. Big game next week. We're going to need all hands on deck. :bricks:

Meh. Shadow roster candidate and nothing more.

I think Donte is toast.

But who is the younger version of a straight line deep threat who has also shown he can catch the ball?

BB and Stallworth have a lot of respect for one another. I could see BB extending Stallworth a contract with a good signing & workout bonus to teach and help push the young and new WRs with the idea that Stallworth most likely wouldn't end up on the 53 man roster.

I don't think Donte is coming back to play during the season

If its just for camp to instruct I'd
Rather have branch

If its to play I'd rather have Lloyd

There always seems to be one spot for that older veteran guy. But yea I would rather have Lloyd back.
