Feeling Good: Forston and Cunningham

The DL was a lot more crowded a week ago.

Cunningham can play inside and out. He is a reasonable swing DL.

He's an inside rusher on passing downs. I doubt he's replacing Brace, Love or Deaderick. They could plug in another pass rusher there.

As far as I'm concerned, if I'm Cunningham I can't relax an inch unless Jones, Ninkovich, Francis, Bernard, Buchanon or Bequette get cut.

Yeah, I would think that Cunningham is still going to be on the bubble, even if the situation appears thin at the moment. I'm sure that he feels slightly better today though.

im feeling Good about Tommy Kelly and Armond Armstead, hoping the other backups don't see the field much

Cory Grissom is pretty much a Kyle Love clone, he's going to be a solid back up

My dark horse to make this team is Dewayne Cherrington. Juco transfer. Improved a ton from Jr to Sr year at MSU. Father passed away when he was young. Worked at Wal-Mart. Visited the Ravens and Giants prior to the draft.

24 tackles in the SEC for an interior lineman isn't too shabby...

With that said, hes slow as hell which is why the team barely paid his bus fare to get here.

Who is Vince's backup and big body buddy on obvious running downs?

I think Cory Grissom's chances of making this team have improved pretty dramatically this week, however we could still see vet acquisitions that push him back to the PS.

I have to tell you that I feel pretty bad for Kyle Love if he was released as has been purported in the media yesterday.

I have to think that they are going to sign another DL prior to training camp.

With that said -

DE: Jones, Ninkovich, Cunningham, Francis, Bequette
DT: Wilfork, Kelly, Armstead, Forston, Grissom

would be the five-deep depth chart with Forston/Grissom being Wilfork's backup with Buchanan still going to the practice squad unless someone from this depth chart slips.

I don't feel bad for Love, he got a $500k signing bonus last year.

Nunchucks - if you had a job where you needed either your memory or your ability to have physical attributes to perform your job and you were diagnosed with either Alzheimers or Multiple Sclerosis, how would you feel?

This situation is comparable because it is going to become clear that Love was beginning to manage the disease so that he could continue his career.

I guess I would have to figure out how else I could make money. Again, the guy got a decent amount of money, he should not be destitute.

This is not about Love being destitute. This is about ones' ability to perform his job after a medical diagnosis with a medical remedy so that he can perform his job. There are a lot of holes in this story starting with when the initial diagnosis was discovered and what steps have been taken so that Love can continue to do his job.

As far as I am concerned, neither Florio nor anyone else has answered that question. If the initial reports are accurate and Love as already regained 15-20 pounds of the weight that he lost, then the Pats had alternatives including putting him on a separate reserve list rather than cutting him.

I have Diabetes Type II diagnosed over ten years ago. For the good of Love, he simply can't stay in the NFL. His doctors ha surely ve told him that he has to lose 50-65 pounds if he wants to control the disease. It must have been pretty severe before being noticed, as his weight changed dramatically.

If he were a WR he could combine the NFL with saving his life; but as a NT/DT he cannot. He can't play his NFL position at 240-250 pounds, if that.

He is better off living and seeing his kid grow up, than a few more years in the NFL.:(

Good Luck Mr. Love in whatever you do.

Yes, the reality is that folks with diabetes should not weigh 300 pounds. It is dangerous to their health.

Yes, he can try for a couple of years. The patriots were not willing to be part of any such effort.

What about Jay Cutler, who has type 1 diabetes?

IMHO, there is a great difference between the risks for a 245 quarterback and those for a 300 pound defensive tackle.
