Kyle Love released

Get well Kyle. I'm thinking this is something he wanted.

Looks like we can't have any injuries on the line now.

Well, that sucks. Love and Deadrick all in one week. They must think Kelly will rebound from a bad season last year and/or Armstead will emerge as a solid starter. Even if Love is being released due to medical reasons, they couldn't have found out about this today.

Now that I see the statement from the agent, looks like it's not something he wanted.

now that we're releasing these guys, watch Vince and Kelly get hurt .

I would definitely have to say that it's surprising to see both of these players released in a 24-48 hr period for sure.

I felt that the position of DL was one of the obvious weaknesses of the team going into the draft, partially due to the talent/depth, and partially due to the position being up in the air due to all of the turnover that will happen at the end of the season with the contracts of Ninkovich, Deaderick, Love, Cunningham, and Pryor (3 of which are now gone, and Cunningham will also be on the bubble too).

I still believe that we'll need to add some outside help at this position before the season starts, and the position will almost certainly need to be addressed with a high draft pick in the spring. On top of that I believe that Wilfork will be extended in the next 12 months or so, definitely by the start of the season next year.

Hopefully there are some viable options from roster casualties in the upcoming months.

I hate to lose love ...but BB must have seen something good in the camp else ..he would not have let Love go.....

And so they released Deaderick why exactly?

There is still a need for added depth and talent on the defensive line, particularly when you factor in the (somewhat) uncertain situation of Armstead.

Although Armstead will almost certainly be there to provide an added body, we still have some questions about his potential production and ability to pick up the system enough to be considered a definite upgrade.

DT: Wilfork, Kelly, Armstead, Francis?

I'm confused. Armstead isn't even 300lbs and Francis is 270.

Cue the freakout followed by Love producing very little for another team next season.

Making room for Seymour & Abraham.

 ;)

Making room for Seymour & Abraham.

 ;)

It's a shame that the Seymour bridge has been burned so badly that it'll never even be a consideration for one second, because we all know that he can still be a viable player--especially in this system.

On top of that, he seems to still have a strange overvalued sense of self-worth, which may actually keep him sitting on the couch this season.

Why do people keep saying Belichick must have seen something good in camp, related to Kelly or Armstead? No one's been practicing in pads. Really hard to evaluate your space eaters when they're wearing shorts and shirts.

must have loved what grissom/robertson/vellano/cherrington showed at minicamp (they already held it right?)...can't find any other reasonable explanation. Type-2 diabetes usually isn't something that prevents you from performing well, as a lot of athletes have already shown.

Interesting - I liked Love he hustled and worked hard. One has to wonder if the clear decline in play late last year was related to these health problems.

Probably good news for Forston and to a lesser extent Cunningham and Bequette (I think we will see more DE athletes lining up in the middle even more this year)
