Ok besides Denver who do you see in that divison to keep them out of the playoffs?

Kansas City and Denver both can do it.

San Diego has very few weak spots - The D is great with just some need in the Secondary and the Offense is awesome ith another season under Rivers will be even better.

Even if the coach sucks the team won't fall down much..they win the division easy next year -12-4 record ahead of Kansas City at 11-5

Look at Barry Switzer..Sucked royally as a HC - Won the SB same year....Look at Brian Billick with the Ravens,He sucks too yet won the big one.

I think Norv is really lucky to have another chance to coach again because of his past failures.
With the players that he inherits with this San Diego team, he'll have a great chance to redeem himself.

The one thing that worries me about this move is that Cameron was a blithering idiot for not sticking with LT during the game. Turner won't make that mistake. He ran Emmitt Smith into the ground at Dallas.

IMO, the more you take the ball out of Screech's hands, the better off you are on offense. Bad news.

They should. It's the players who make the plays, not the coaches.

The Bolts have plenty of warts. The Bolts have problems at ILB. They are much much worse than the Patriots at that position. Tedy and Vrabes might be ageing but we have them. The Bolts have nobody; Godfrey is retiring, and Edwards has been issued walking papers at 34. Their secondary is inferior. Their WRs are nothing to brag about either. They still need a RT too.

think again, wilhelm and cooper will open your eyes in 07

cooper NE fans may even know, i believe he's from the boston area or somewhere up there.

wait and see.

Baring injury to LT, there's no way they miss out on the playoffs IMO. They could have Tony Dung...errr nevermind.

It is the old in spite of or because of discussion... anyways thanks for the honest assessment.

I can't believe the Chargers scored Ron Rivera as their linebackers coach. That's a coup.

Its amazing how people are putting down coaching coming to a patriots forum.

In every 1 of the bill bellichick season he has dismantled all the talent in the world with coaching....every SB run we have trampled over superior talent and even this year we handled the chargers.

i am seriously think the super chargers are going down the gutter due to the we got players and no need of coaching.

The Chargers think they don't need coaching? What are you talking about?

Turner may not be the prototypical fiery leader you want as an NFL head coach but then neither is Dungy and look where he is. As far as coaching ability the Chargers picked up some good coaches in Turner on the offensive side of the ball (I don't think anyone doubts his ability as an offensive mind) and Cottrell and Rivera on defense. After all the Bears got to the Super Bowl primarily as a result of their defense overseen by Rivera and Turner was the offensive coordinator on a two-time Super Bowl champion team. Rivera is primarily experienced in coaching the 4-3 so that's probably the reason they brought him in as an assistant and not the coordinator since the Chargers want to keep their 3-4 scheme, and that's where Cottrell comes in as he is known as he is known as an innovator in the 3-4 defense and has over 20 years coaching experience in the NFL. Needless to say I don't think the Chargers will be lacking in coaching abilities. Turner should also be able to do for Rivers what he did for Aikman - mold him into a great QB. The only real questionmark is how effective will Turner be at overseeing the team as an administrator.

Lucky? I dunno. With his owner & GM, I'd hate to be in Norv's shoes-succeeding a 14-2 coach WHO GOT FIRED!
