Seventh round pick that outplayed his draft position. With the additions of Kelly and Armstead, I guess he became expendable. Best of luck to him in his future endeavors.

I guess Kelly is showing good stuff at camp after all...I suppose well hold on to wilfork and love (obv) and have armstead and Kelly spell them with a chance for them to take over love

Armstead must be an animal :rocker:

Good depth player, but seemingly a victim of the numbers game at this point.

Things didn't look too good when we signed Armstead. Signing Tommy Kelly was the nail in the coffin. I imagine part of this is economics between cheaper deals for Forston/Grissom versus a 4 year vet salary for Deaderick. I wish him the best of luck, he'll catch on somewhere else.

Huh. Weird. He was a starter very recently...

Someone will pick him up. He's good depth and was released early enough to latch on elsewhere.

Well, there is the 53 man roster "surprise" cut, and it's not even June yet. :D

I really liked him as a depth DT and 3-4 DE depth, BB thought otherwise.

Reiss notes he played 34% of snaps in 2012.

Maybe he got in somebody's dog houes

The Patriots have released DL Brandon Deaderick, a 2010 seventh-round draft pick.

Bummer. Was rooting for him.

Letting him go early to increase his chance of getting a roster spot was a nice move on our part. He was a solid contributor over the last 2 seasons.

Armstead must look impressive in rookie camp. Kelly hasn't participated in a team related activity yet has he?

1tech - Wilfork, Love
3tech - Armstead, Kelly

Probably bodes well for Armstead. If that's the case, I'm encouraged- Deaderick was a decent rotational player, but he was what he was. They must be confident that Armstead can be more than that.

I hope that wasn't the case because he worked out with Chandler Jones this offseason so you'd have to worry about what got him there.

I'm not surprised in the least. The interesting thing here is we're cutting ties with the closest thing to a 5-tech on the roster.

Best of luck....hope he latches on somewhere....

Guys however much we're rooting for a JAG, you're always trying to improve over the marginal roster guys, and let's not kid ourselves... Deaderick was definitely that. I get it... you follow a late pick, root for him as he shows flashes of adequacy, root for him as he shows consistent adequacy with flashes of "pretty good..." you start to care. But it looks like BB et al. see a quicker path to greatness, what can you say....

I too hope he catches on elsewhere. He worked to make it as far as he did & ya gotta respect that.

Armstead is a freak he was the #1 OL and #2 overall recruit coming out of HS.

He is taller, stronger, faster and more athletic than Suh. Him next to Wilfork should be fun to watch.

I think it was him or Love but I am surprised to see the decision made in mid May.
