Report: Belichick hates Tebow as a player

Is this post serious? I can't even tell.

Mallett -> Tebow

He's not wrong. A large portion of sports fans mock Tebow just because of his belief system. If you don't believe that then read the ESPN boards from time to time. It's pretty ridiculous. There's plenty of reason to mock him for being an awful quarterback. No need to go after his belief system.

I would like to report that I also hate Tim Tebow as a player.

I dislike anyone, no matter sex, race, creed or religion, that crosses their "i" before they dot their "t."

Tough guy, should probably try rugby.

This guy came out of Florida, I wanted to like him. He's a winner and leader, I said. The dismantling the Patriots gave him in the playoffs really opened my eyes. You want him to marry your sister/daughter? Probably a good fit. QB my NFL team? Pass.

I also saw Tebow Dismantle the #1 ranked Steeler defense the game before to the tune of 316 passing yards and 2 TDs along with 50 yards rushing and another TD. His real ability is probably somewhere in the middle.

Michael Silver should go back to....

That's because the Steelers made a mistake in not changing their philosophy. They blitzed the crap out of him and he made them pay for it by buying time with his feet and hitting his second and third options. The Patriots played it right. They set the edge, took away his other running lanes, took away his initial read, and made him sit in the pocket and go through his progressions. The result was the massacre you saw with the 2011 Pats defense, as bad as they were, being made to look like the '85 Bears.

I have little doubt that Belichick took a long look at the 2009 SEC Championship game and the way Saban defensed Tebow that day. In 2008, Saban employed a defensive scheme similer to the one the Steelers used and the result was a Gator win. In 2009, Saban employed pretty much the same scheme to a T that the Patriots used and the Gators lost.

I think timmehs refusal to be labeled anything but a QB and his disdain for moving to TE is reason enough for BB to hate him as a player. Tebow is limited in skill, and his refusal to move to a position that showcases the talent he does have shows a lack of wanting to be part of a team, and instead be the focus.

Hes a very new york jets player, and its no suprise now that he went to jersey as opposed to flordia when the broncos were shopping him.

He wanted a big stage to talk about ************ his lord and savior.

Tebow is the anti patriot.
No.... you're hating on him because he's a Christian. You made that point clear in your post not only in HOW you said it, or even in the fact you failed to capitalize Jesus' name. No, you brought up his religious beliefs because you find THAT part worthy of mocking and derision, and that's something that no one ought to tolerate.

Call out his passing skills, or leadership skills or general play, but when you throw in jabs at someone's beliefs, then that crosses the line from criticism into hate.

BTW: I'm not a Christian. I'm a Pagan, but I will always stand up in defense of someone's beliefs against an unwarranted attack. It's what being an American and a Patriot is all about.

What the HELL are you talking about?

I didn't even mention Jesus, I think you're confusing me with someone else.

I fixed it. It was Chasa's comment from page 1 of this thread that I meant to quote.

Tim Tebow is not a good QB, still... he's not getting fair treatment from NFL teams or fans. I've seen plenty of NFL QBs play like pure crap, JaMarcus Russell for instance, that scrub was ten times more expensive and just as sorry, but the Raiders gave him 3 years and a lot of money to prove he was garbage. Michael Vick cannot beat a D that blitzes if his life depended it on it, but he's been given chance after chance, despite the team knowing they'll never reach the SB or the playoffs again with him at QB. Mark Sanchez, like Tebow made the playoffs, mainly because of good D and a solid running game. Sanchez has been given 4 years now to show how whacked of a QB he is. Eli Manning throws 100 INTs a season, proving that any QB that plays with the Giants or in the NFC East (where Dallas will win the game for the other team) could probably win the SB if he had luck on his side. Tebow hardly threw turnovers and still no chance.

I use to think it was BS to think that his beliefs is why he's being treated so poorly, but now I'm starting to see the light. His faith is being tested big time. Hopefully he finds the right situation. At the moment, I just don't get it and I'm one of the ones who hates the guy because he got famous for being a virgin QB instead of being an actual good player.

well, Gwedd...I am a Catholic...and I have a number of pagan friends, all women BTW. What raises my antennae as far as Tebow is concerned, is the constant proselytizing he engages in before the cameras.

I have experienced the Swaggerts, and Bakkers, Marvin Gorman, Robert Tilton et al who shamelessly used evangelicalism to line their own pockets and perpetrate and perpetuate massive fraud on the unsuspecting men and women just looking for some meaning in their lives.

I have to say, EVERY single time I see a Tebow press conference, I see a young scam artist in the making. He has the platform and notoriety to be able to build the single greatest evangelical movement in the country yet.

I don't trust that. I've seen it before and it ALWAYS comes up rotten from the inside...and it always ends up with innocents being bilked out of their hard earned money by a charismatic charlatan.

Perhaps Tebow is the voice in the desert ...leading the forlorn and hopeless to salvation.Until I SEE IT with my own eyes I will remain extremely skeptical.

Joker, As a Christian I understand that some have used faith to make a profit. This kid does not have his hand out. Do more investigation. Everyone who has ever played with him Christian or no has sad this kid was a great Team mate and a great kid.

You are really asking a lot of this kid to expect he can lead people to salvation. It's just he has more balls than most of us Christians when it comes to professing our faith which is actually what we are instructed to do in our faith.
At the end of the day, this kid loves his faith and loves his football. I'd be hard pressed to say an NFL player loves the game more than him.

There are a few starting QB's that he will take their Team and win with. Even Rex Ryan was remiss not giving this kid a bigger role. Sparano hated him and Tony he lost his job and did a great job for the Dolphins and got canned ther so he has no credibility.

If you were Rex those last few games of 2012 when Sanchez was just awful, shouldn't Tebow have gotten a chance? Surprisingly the answer is no!

The kid was in a no win situation. If he won he would have made Sparano and Ryan look bad because they sat the kid. Why bring more attention to you as the head coach of that situation. Sit the kid.

We have all seen Sanchez play. Who do you think would have been more successful at the end of 2012? I bet Tebow doesn't do the Butt Fumble.

Take a pole...Sanchez or Tebow. How about Gabbert and Tebow? How about any one on the 2012 Cardinals and Tebow? How about Fitxpatrick and Tebow? How about Weedon and Tebow? Carson Palmer and Tebow? Locker vs. Tebow? Tebow could have just as easily handed off to AD so no Ponder magic there and I might even throw Mike Vick as poopy in 2012?

Nope not may 300 yard games from the kid. Not many 100+ passer ratings. But how many here challenge that those Teams above would not have won more if Tebow had a chance with them? I'd bet anything I own that he would have increased wins over loses.

This kid never asked for any of this but I think this article says it all:

"A survey released Monday by Forbes.com finds that Tim Tebow is the most influential athlete in America.

According to Tom Van Riper of Forbes.com, the determination was made via surveys taken “over the past several months.” Though Tebow had an NFL job before last Monday, he nevertheless had become largely forgotten from a football standpoint during the most recent regular season.

A whopping 29 percent of the respondents deemed Tebow to be influential. He was followed by Olympians Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt, and then by Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter.

Finishing fifth was Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, the man who allowed Denver to throw Tebow overboard.

Being influential may not make a team more inclined to give Tebow a job. But it suggests that even if he spends the next decade languishing in various pro and/or semi-pro football leagues, the name will still carry weight when the time comes to transition to something else."

Kid just wants to play. He doesn't want to do anything else. He happens to be a Christian and he is not afraid to say it.....o.k. so lets' mock him? Nope. I have never seen anyone on the Jets or Broncos say a bad word about him. The kind of Anti-Tebow we have here, Hernandez also swears by the kid.

oddly...I agree with everything you put forward, DW.

like I said, once bitten twice shy...

Imagine if Belichick really said

"I hate Tim Tebow as a player..."

LOL

:D

well, as we all KNOW...now that it's been brought up and given traction on the net, it IS what BB said....ten years from now Marshall Faulk will be blubbering from his twin bed at Faded Glory Nursing Home how much Belichick hated Tebow and in turn how that cheated HIM out a Super Bowl

Imagine if Belichick really said

LOL

:D

It would have been totally different if had said, "I really hate Vick as a player."

I'm not sure what BB thinks about Tebow but I'm pretty sure he despises the sports media gossip brigade...

Can we pay tebow's salary to stay with the jets? :)
