Report: Belichick hates Tebow as a player

What a weird, random thing to report on.

The Tebow haters in the press and elsewhere have a meme going all round the various MSM outlets that Tebow is "blackballed" by the NFL because of his fanbase. Silver is just riding that same horse because of his personal bias against Tim.

The whole meme is a load of horse hockey, but haters gotta hate.

I can imagine that BB would "hate" Tebow as a player, the way he "hated" Bledsoe as a player. Both are guys who have raw talent, who have always gotten by on that raw talent, and are stubborn and not open to being coached out of their stubborn ways. It's been pretty well documented that Bledsoe used to do things his own way if he thought that was better, and Tebow has stated openly that he will only play QB in the NFL, even though his skill set indicates he should be open to doing something else. "Uncoachable" probably ranks higher in BB's objection list, but "media circus" is probably a close second.

i have my own disconnect. it's with michael silver.

^

But Belichick has no reason to 'hate' Tebow. Tebow hasn't done anything bad to him.

This article makes no sense.

I'm sure Belichick wouldn't want the 'circus' that came with Tebow, but that's not the sole reason for not having Tebow.
If Tebow could run like Vick and pass and decision make like Brady, then Belichick would welcome a much greater circus if it meant getting Tebow.

The only thing Bill and Tebow would have to say about each other is they it's probably not a good fit for both sides.

In fairness, what NFL HC or GM would actually like Tim Tebow as a player?

I think the overall point is supposed to be BB doesnt think Tebow is a good enough football player to be on his team.
Strip away the sensationalism and you have the actual fact and truth.

I think timmehs refusal to be labeled anything but a QB and his disdain for moving to TE is reason enough for BB to hate him as a player. Tebow is limited in skill, and his refusal to move to a position that showcases the talent he does have shows a lack of wanting to be part of a team, and instead be the focus.

Hes a very new york jets player, and its no suprise now that he went to jersey as opposed to flordia when the broncos were shopping him.

He wanted a big stage to talk about ************ his lord and savior.

Tebow is the anti patriot.

Tebow has stated openly that he will only play QB in the NFL.

link?

I am not aware of him ever saying anything of the sort. I'd like to see a first hand account of that.

Many people assume that the thinks that way, but confusing facts with assumptions can be dangerous.

Eh, this is probably being overexaggerated by Silver. I would think that it's more or less that Belichick doesn't see Tebow being a fit for this team. One, for his lack of progression as a quarterback. Another for the media circus that Tebow takes with him wherever.

That said, this thread is about Tebow. Let's see some hate on Christianity in this thread because, you know, that's always necessary. :bricks:

In fairness, this reporter deserves ZERO benefit of a doubt for stirring up sh%t. It sounds like he just made it up to get an article and some clicks/views out there. I very much doubt that BB 'hates' Tebow on any level.

I just don't think BB feels Tebow is useful here in our offense or he would have scooped him up ages ago.

P.S. All the kid does is win. And yes, I would take him in a game that say God forbid, TB had to leave said game. This kid would do anything to win that game. And you know he would find a way. It might not be pretty. Would I be happier with Carr or Orton as a backup in that scenario? Nyet! Can't really have an answer on Mallett.

Because he is a Christian that is a disgraceful way for any human being to dislike Tebow and Judge him. If there was a Muslim praising Allah and we criticized him, or a chest pounding gay that would demand we (I) have to accept that lifestyle in our minds and hearts and that they demand we (I) must change some of our (my) beliefs and teachings to agree with their lifestyle and jam it down out throat to accept it or else......and perhaps we really have no place in our beliefs and our faith for that kind of stuff, well then we are bad evil insensitive people, the ACLU will be at our door and the people in the Mideast will start a riot, hit our picture with their shoes and burn our images and and want to hang us. But if you are a Christian, all the mocking and scoffing are fair game in our society (and the people in the Mideast still want to kill us) .... sorry I ain't buyin.

Disclosure: If you are gay or Muslim sorry I am only making a point. I am not criticizing any Muslim believers nor intend to. There are bad in every faith or non-faith. If a Muslim says praise to Allah, do we make fun of him? Yet Tebow says his beliefs and we make fun. I have no interest in "gay" people. I have interest in all people. It doesn't offend people when a NBA basketball player says he is gay. We pound him on the back and say how brave he is. Yet Tebow professes Christianity and he is laughed at. Are we all nuts? It's about his game and can he do it.

I am using this as an example about how Christians are in the same boat of criticism and judgement. People "judge" Tebow because he is faithful and that is o.k.? Don't cross the line on those other segments of life above.

This should not be about his faith or beliefs. This is his ability to win a game. Anyone who disbelieves that Tebow wouldn't come up with a way, well then you would be wrong then wouldn't you.

I'm not so sure.

Tebow has talent in leadership, heart/motivation and toughness, maybe speed and agility too, but no talent in actually throwing the ball. I don't think Tebow is uncoachable or "stubborn" when it comes to learning from others (being stubborn over only being a QB is a separate issue) , I just think he sucks as a passer. He was coached by the best college coach in the game and the best young offensive mind in the game in Denver. He has no accuracy, a horrible windup, etc etc etc.

Also, his "skill set indicates he should be open to doing something else" is questionable. Does his grade out as a wide receiver, slot, running back, tight end? Maybe a gimmick guy three plays a game but there are 100 players in the last draft better than him at the aforementioned positions as real contributors.

As I said, haters gotta hate.

Um, that's really not much of a response, you can say "haters gonna hate" to anyone that ever disagrees with you.

Tebow sucks at QB and so far he hasn't been willing to play any other position, I'd be open to him as a TE/RB/FB but he has to be open to that as well, and it appears he isn't.

Why would BB want a crappy QB? BB wants football players like Troy Brown, who will play whatever position will help the team.

No need to put a disclosure in there because everything outside of the paragraph that began with "P.S." is dead on. People would literally freak out if either of the other two happened and this thread would be moved to the Political forum. Somewhere along the line, it became acceptable and "cool" to make fun of Christianity and Christians. It's actually getting pretty tiresome (not to mention pathetic) to see it every time the guy's name is brought up. And, by the way, this is coming from someone who, outside of the funerals of his grandparents four months apart, has not been to church in almost ten years nor prayed for even longer than that. Rant over.

Is this post serious? I can't even tell.

Mallett -> Tebow

P.S. All the kid does is win.

Unless, you know, he plays someone who's good. Then he gets smoked because any coach who is half decent at gameplanning can contain him. He won because the Broncos had an average defense that played a bunch of cupcakes. Any time they faced a good offense (Patriots twice, Detroit, even Buffalo that year) they gave up 40+ and Tebow didn't couldn't even keep it close.

I don't bash him because he's Christian. I bash him because he sucks at playing quarterback.
