SF 49ers favorites to win 2013 Super Bowl

Hmm, this story puts the Pats as the faves.

Post-draft Super Bowl odds | National Football Post

An AFC team should be the favorite, it's a much easier path and the AFC team will be good enough to have a fighting chance. You have to get to the SB to win it and SF has the likes of Seattle, GB and Atlanta to battle it out with.

The 49ers WOULD win it over the Broncos, if it came down to that. Unfortuantely for Broncos fans, they have a declining choke artist manning (no pun intended) the QB position.

Another clear mistake in that table is that the Jets are listed as having actual odds of winning the Super Bowl. I can forgive that as the demands of the betting industry, but in any sane reality, those odds should be infinity to 1. :D

Can't put much stock in that one. Aside from the obvious ( Pats not at #32), he has the Eagles going QB in round 1 after selecting Matt Barkley this year....

Barkley is a backup qb at best, everyone knows it.

Seahawks should be heavy favorites IMO. They would demolish the Broncos.

PreSeason Super Bowl Winners are for Losers

Like I've said, history is against SF making it back to the SB this year. Unless their new acquisitions bring significant improvement to a defense that was rather exposed down the stretch of the season and playoffs, I do not see them making it back.

Justin Smith being healthy will help. The 49ers can single handedly thank Logan Mankins for them not winning the Super Bowl.

Yeah Smith's injury was a big part of it, but even he is getting up there in age.

The 49ers were a pass interference non call away from winning it all. 9 times out of 10, that call is made. That being said, I only think the dreaded injuries are the only thing holding back the 49ers from going to the SB, and possibly winning it. 2 straight NFC Championship games and 1 SB make them the elite of the NFC at this point. Add in a very good offseason, and I don't disagree with the title of this thread. Good FA pickups and a great draft.

This is the time where people are making assessments based on what a team looks like "on paper". It would be impossible NOT to put the Niners as the odds on favorite to win it all. In fact if we were being honest, the Niners, Seattle, Falcons, Broncos, Ravens, and Bengals should all be rated ahead of the Pats right now. Not that the Pats don't belong IN that mix, noone should be insulted if they aren't put at the top of those team. And why should we care anyway. NOTHING really matters until we get to January anyway.

And we know that at THAT point its the team who gets hot and has the most luck that wins it all. "The best team on paper", won't mean a thing

Big issue for the 49ers is the degree to which Colin Kaepernick progresses from being a frightening athlete to being a well-rounded NFL QB (plus a frightening athlete).

Do not understand the long odds against the Ravens winning. Not that they need be THE favorite, just not so middling. Top half dozen is right for Ravens, Pats.

This board is schizophrenic, every other post is about how bad this team will be because the Pats cannot draft right..

Or because Steven wants to hang with his friends..

SF is my favorite to win the SB

They were the best team in the NFL last season (in my opinion)
They are young and the players they had last year should be the same if not better.
They had a crapload of draft picks that can only help with their depth and maybe add a 1 or 2 quality starters right away
