NFL analyst Michael Irvin no longer with ESPN

It was a nutty hire from the start. Congrats on the Hall of Fame. He made it, but I think Art Monk was way more deserving imo.

Parcells is taking over his spot, seems like a good move IMO.

Again, get rid of Sailsberry , Clayton, cancel Cold Pizza, and stop the Nascar promotions.. And there will be a reason to tune into ESPN:rocker:

Just about the only Cowboys they are missing are Alvin Harper and Charles Haley.

About time

Parcells should replace Ditka. Man if they replace Irvin with Emmet and Ditka with Parcells I might actually tune in again. I have no watched their pregame show in 3 years now. Man just the prospect of those 2 morons gone makes me giddy.

There are worse ex-players doing "network football analysis", like Shannon Sharpe and Mark Schlereth.

I think Shannon got axed for Tiki this week, while I forgot about Shlereth, and also Eric Allen.. We still have more weeds to pull before tuning into Espn

Lucky we have our pregame show up here, Steve Nelson a guy who knows the game, speaks intelligently and flies under the radar... rarely if ever listen to another pregame show, except for the 15 minutes before the game.

Big step in the right direction ESPN!

I laughed when the rumor mentioned he was going to be fired because he was a time bomb ready to explode. What freakin' episode hit ESPN in the head to see the light on that one? Throughout his life, when has Irvin not been in some sort of trouble?

No one was worse than Irvin. He didn't even analyze. The people he liked personally were terrific, and those he didn't were horrible.

His interviews were set up to give his favorite friends a platform to speak.

Worse of all, he about killed draft coverage for me two years ago, continually talking over Kiper and Mort when they tried to give facts. Last year I watched the first day draft on NFL Network.

Good riddance if you ask me.

Exactly. If you weren't from "the U" or a big time WR then you were a second class citizen.

Whoever replaces him tho is going to be a color commentator like Shannon Sharpe or Deion Sanders. Bill Parcels would just make that show that much more boring.
