So I assume the trade will be announced whenever said team gets put on the clock.

could be a future pick though?

well if we get a 6th for demps bb just turned nothing into something. not bad for the ole magician! ;)

Of course, they just drafted a guy who ran a 4.38 40 with a broken toe. So there's that.
I'm not getting the correlation. Either way, Boyce doesn't play at that speed in pads. Running fast in shorts is one thing but doing it on gamedays is another.

The broken toe issue makes it even more prevalent. For reference to what I mean, Julio Jones in 2011 ran in the same ball park as Boyce (4.39 at the combine) also with a foot injury as well, the difference is Jones plays significantly faster than that on tape unlike Boyce.

Jeff Demps has Olympian level speed and is one the few NFL players to run the 100m under 10.1 seconds in the rich history of the league. His personal best is 10.01 secs. Also he ran 9.96 secs, but that was heavily wind aided. Comparing Boyce to that is silly at best.

Did Demps run those times in pads? ;)

They drafted another fast guy, who is not as fast as Demps but he is fast. That's all I was saying. I know the difference between playing in pads and running in shorts. You're taking an offhand comment and blowing it out of proportion for no reason. That's what is really silly at best.

If we even get a 7th round I will be happy. With him committing to track he won't be as focused on football and will not be training appropriately for it. He is already a small player and could find himself simply re-injuring himself again.

RT @JennaLaineBucs: The Patriots have traded Jeff Demps and a 7th rounder for Bucs RB LeGarrette Blount..

we have bolden who does a lot of what jeff is predicted to do

but we didnt have a BIG back, for the 1-2 yd gains (which killed us in AFC champ game), and now we do w/ Blount

who has btw some real highlights under his belt....im not sure why his production has been falling recently though

Wow.

LaGarrette Blounte.

Wow.

Re: LaGarrette Blount

Traded 2 guys who likely won't make the team for 1 guy who likely won't make the team. How exciting.

Since when do olympic sprinters need to run in pads? Regardless, have seen him run in pads? My point exactly.

They drafted another fast guy, who is not as fast as Demps but he is fast. That's all I was saying. I know the difference between playing in pads and running in shorts. You're taking an offhand comment and blowing it out of proportion for no reason. That's what is really silly at best.
In case you're missing the point (which you clearly are), your comment about Boyce's 40 time is a faulty line of thinking. It's been debunked already, but refer to his game tape if you're disillusioned about it. Running a fast 40 time does not mean squat if it doesn't translate on the field. His 40 may have been fast but he isn't has fast as that on the field. That's all I was saying, in case you didn't get it the first time.

Also, as I said already, Jeff Demps is probably among the top 3 in the NFL in terms of raw speed. Comparing Boyce, who probably isn't even in the top 50, to that or saying the Patriots drafted him to be "another fast guy" is what's really illogical at best. Now you can continue with your pointless banter, just don't expect me to waste anymore time with your nonsense.

Edit: The Bucaneers (who coveted Demps), would seem to probably find good use for Demps' speed. It's unfortunate that it would not be the Patriots, as he would've been a great situational weapon to have. Fortunately, they got back something for it. Although the ultimate return investment is a player not many would probably want to see in a Patriots uniform.

Re: LaGarrette Blount

Sweet!

I hope he isn't the punch line of too many jokes.

So we traded a UDFA plus a 7th round pick to get a ... UDFA?

LeGarrette Blount - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

So is Bolden's leg broken or does BB know something I don't? I thought the point was to get MORE picks not less. LOL.

PS Is Blount good? I guess we had a room for an extra RB since Woodhead left. Plus, sounds like BB didn't like any of the RBs left in the 7th of this year's draft.

LaGarrette Blount being in the fold is going to make Brandon Bolden work even harder in the offseason for his roster spot. Like to see some spirited competition for the bruiser back.
