Da'Rick Rogers is perfect for their "dropped to 4th round for marijuana usage/character questions" selection

We should get a 4th,5th,6th, and a conditional 2nd in 2014 for Ryan Mallett today. I have not looked at the 'breaking news" yet so it may have already happened.

Malletts days of having trade value are over (he never had any anyway). Poor delusional Mallett fans :D

2014 Draft:

Johnny Manziel
Teddy Bridgewater
David Fales
Tajh Boyd

Stacked QB class, possibly better than 2012, no way a team will trade for him in 2014. It's time to draft a QB in the 7th to beat him out in camp so we can have an actual backup QB. Dysert, Reinfree, and Scott can beat out 20 yard overthrow Mallett.

:)

We could draft a quarterback and trade Mallett.

Matt Barkley
Geno Smith
Tyler Wilson
Tyler Bray
Aaron Murray
Landry Jones
Logan Thomas

All had a shot at being 1st round picks. A lot of people had Thomas projected as #1 overall before the season started. Its still way too early to tell and drafts always look much stronger a year out.

I know its sarcasm but if we could get decent value for Mallett and Barkley is still on the board I do it in a heartbeat. Even if we don't trade Mallett it looks like a good year to get a developmental guy late.

We could draft a QB and cut Mallett, just how rookie UDFA Hoyer beat out 3rd round from the year before O'Connell.

True, but I'll be shocked if Bridgewater/Manziel aren't top 3 by the end of the college season. Manziel vs. Alabama and Bridgewater vs. Florida were special performances, doubt they are flukes.

Would we be a better team with Barkley or Nassib on the roster? Probably.

Hopefully trade down for a lower 4th and a 5th. Still a lot of really good players on the board that can help this team all the way through round 7.

WR
Da'Rick Rogers
Quinton Patton
Kenny Stills
Marquess Wilson
Cobi Hamilton
Josh Boyce
Ryan Swope
Aaron Mellette

Kenny Stills would be a great pick for the Patriots in the 4'th

That would be nice.

Most likely, a #4 or #5 now, and #3 in 2014.

Its just way too early to tell right now. Nobody has really studied these guys yet and critiqued them. They may look great in college but until experts sit down and actually study the tape in detail we have no idea how they will translate. You watch the first couple of game for Geno Smith in 2012 and you would think he would go #1 overall, but a lot can happen over the next year. Jake Locker was suppose to be a lock to go #1 overall a year out, but because nobody had studied his tape properly at the time his deficiencies weren't known. On the other side nobody had RG3 as an elite, top 3 talented QB prospect a year out from the draft. So it could be a much stronger QB class, but possibly with guys we don't even expect.

Hell even good value at QB (might be a good year to pick up a developmental 7th rounder)
Matt Barkley
Ryan Nassib
Tyler Wilson
Zac Dysert
Tyler Bray
Landry Jones
Matt Scott

Good list, lots of talent left. I'm a big Da'Rick Rogers fan, I think he can be another Anqaun Boldin. I hope he's there at 102 and I hope the Pats take him. I'm hoping Kenjon Barner drops to the 7th or we trade up to take him. Barrett Jones would be a nice pick as well at 102.

My targets for day 3, late round flyers and priority UDFAs.

WRs Quinton Patton, Ryan Swope and Denard Robinson
OL Barrett Jones, Braxston Cave, PJ Lonergan, Chris Faulk and Ryan Turnley
RBs Marcus Lattimore, Kenjon Barner and Latavius Murray
DBs/CBs Josh Evans, Robert Lester, Rashard Hall , Micah Hyde, Tharold Simon and Kenny Tate
QB Tyler Bray
TE Nick Kasa
DL Alex Okafor and Malliciah Goodman

Are there any players we could see traded for picks today?

Does the Collins pick make Spikes expendable and allow us to move Hightower inside?

Could the Harmon pick make Gregory a trade option?

Do Fells or Cunningham have any trade value?

Could we find a taker for Demps?

Just throwing some ideas out there, maybe we could see an Ellis Hobbs like trade somewhere.

Demps and Mallett are the most likely possibilities, although they are unlikely.

I'm done with trying to predict anything with the Patriots so to that end, I'm going to let my heart rule my head and say that I depserately want them to draft Marquess Wilson, Marcus Lattimore and Derrick Washington today. Whatever else happens, I'll just absorb. Nice to have four more picks and UDFA still to come.

Ooh. and Courtney Gardner too.

I learnt a few years ago that trying to predict what BB will do is a futile exercise. Whatever we think we know about him changes, just look at the 3 cone time for WRs. Normally we think its important, but Dobson had one of the worst at the position. Then he comes back and take Logan Ryan with one of the best 3 cone times. What you need to do is just make up your own mind and have some fun with it. You will still be horribly disappointed when they don't take your guy, but the whole process is a lot more enjoyable.

BTW, if we got Wilson and Lattimore I would be over the moon. Add in my guys Williams and Williams in the 7th and I would be able to completely forget about the Harmon pick.

There are Edelman upgrades out there as well; Swope, Sanders, and possibly Vernon.

I think Edelman's main value is as a punt returner and swiss army knife, so I think it would be difficult for one of these guys to upgrade him. I do like Vernon, Zach Rogers and especially TJ Moe in the 7th round/UDFAs though. I just don't want Dennard Robinson.

Green Bay have three 5ths, two 6ths and three 7ths. They'd make a good trade partner for this 4th rounder.

I'd like to trade it considering the number of decent WRs still left and the fact that it's early and teams are re-setting the board. Think the only two players I wouldn't trade it for are Lattimore and Patton.
