We were forewarned. Caserio and Kraft said that there weren't many starters in this draft.

Can't you at least wait 'til the end of training camp?

fine :)

for the record, i dont mind Collins or Dobson but i think better players were on the board and they still could have had these guys in later rounds. I dont get the last two picks.

A because Jamie Collins is a future all star. Blowing the 91st pick on a stiff when most 91st picks are stiffs doesn't change that.

I'd give them an A --- but that's mostly to keep them on the football field

Haven't followed the draft much this year, but

Big, physical vertical threat WR....check
Hard-hitting enforcer-type Safety....check

The rest is gravy. I'm good. (Thank you BB)

As a neutral observer I would give it a B- and only because I know nothing about Duron Harmon and regardless of how good he ends up being, I think he could have absolutely been selected with your pick at #102 (and frankly maybe even at #226).

Of course, Belichick is much more in tune with how much behind the scenes interest Harmon was getting, so who knows? So it wasn't the player as much as the possible reach there that is the demerit, imo.

I like Collins. And love Dobson where you got him. And Logan Ryan is also very solid. Those picks and a non-reach for the 4th pick and the draft gets a B+/A- from me. The reach for Harmon makes it a B- as it stands, imo.

Maybe could have traded back (didn't Miami trade up shortly after?) from the Harmon spot and picked up another late rounder and still got him and kept the #102 pick. Anyway, the draft was nowhere close to a disaster from where I am sitting.

I would give this year draft a C, my mini break down.

Positives:
+ Got lots of Picks
+ Addressed major needs and added depth to it

Negatives:
- No starters, my major concern.
- No 1st round stud
- Too many reaches

at first when they made the first two picks i was a meh then i started watching a couple more videos and reports since i didnt know much and i started to like it a lot more then i liked the ryan pick and then 91 where jesse williams, quinton patton, khaseem greene and others were sitting waiting for us to take them so we take duron hopefully he becomes a good player we will see

Well, we didn't agree much on the Ravens defense, but our analysis of the Pats' draft so far is pretty much the same.

If we grab Quinton Patton at the top of the 4th it'll make things better.

Think about this: the head scratcher pick can't be a head scratcher! BB always makes that one pick that makes you question his sanity!

And is that supposed to be a good thing? Most of the time - no...it turns out to be a bad pick

B-

Dobson and Collins are cool. The rest are throwing darts at a board. Awful draft class. I honestly just hope Dobson works out as the X WR we need.

Wish we grabbed Jordan Hill tho.

So far a solid C+ grade.

They done a few things well to improve the overall depth of the team. They also done a few things that will have some people scratching their heads without looking at things in the grand scheme. This was a depth draft beyond the top 25. Not many blue-chip starters were there to begin with, this was stated by Caserio and Kraft.

The Patriots seemingly improved their depth in the back end, which was an issue due to injuries and so forth, whilst also adding two explosive players in Dobson and Collins. So far it has been a decent all around draft.

I'd say an A- so far. If we grab another WR (Quinton Patton?) and some late round DT and Guard prospects I'll push that to an A+.

C- if that was one of the choices.

Collins to me is a strange pick. He has a rep of being sort of a slacker. Plus I thought Nink did well on that LDE (if that's where BB is slating Collins), and Mayo and Hightower are two of the best D players we have. Even if Collins plays lights out he ain't pushing either of those two to the bench. Collins seems like a lesser version of Jermaine Cunningham

I absolutely love the Dobson pick. Tall, fast WR with really, really great hands. If this guy can learn the offense I think he'll be making highlight reel catches on a weekly basis.

I'm agnostic but hopeful on the Logan Ryan pick. I'm liking what I'm reading about his run support. And with BB's connections at Rutgers I'm guessing BB knows his work habits better than any other CBs that were available. But he seems slower than I'd like.

Duron Harmon was a total headscratcher for me. Even if BB knows and loves this guy's skills and intangibles I have a hard time believing he wouldn't have lasted till late tomorrow.

I think the bold section of your post reflects what many draft experts said about this draft in general. The player you're getting in the late 20's isn't considerably better than the player you're getting in the second and even third rounds. You can't draft what's not there in the first place.

Who knows? Mayock said he'd moved him up from 7th/UDFA status based on watching his tape, so maybe others saw the same things?

I do think that BB deserves the benefit of the doubt when it comes to Rutgers kids, though.
