athletic freak who played for a terrible team in a bad conference. He also looks just like Courtney Upshaw minus about 20lbs and dreads.

Why was Superman picked in the Second Round?

A speed rusher LB and a big WR?

Isn't it obvious.....someone has kidnapped BB and replaced him with a modern game savant

Here is the pass rusher that everyone was calling for- 10 sacks.

Jamie Collins, OLB, Southern Mississippi, NFL Draft - CBSSports.com - NFLDraftScout.com

COMPARES TO: K.J. Wright, OLB, Seattle Seahawks - Like Wright, Collins possesses a unique combination of speed, fluidity and flexibility for his size. However, when Wright came out of Mississippi State, he displayed better all-around instincts and motor than what we've seen out of Collins, who is probably the more gifted athlete. Right now, Collins looks like a developmental project with starting-caliber potential if the fundamentals and instincts can improve.

I'm slightly concerned because Deus doesn't like Collins....

Really not sure if he can handle being a DE. Rather have him as a LB. Interesting to see what this means for Spikes and Ninkovich.

Ninkovich has lots of roles. He's here to stay.

Spikes is on his contract year and is unlikely to be re-signed.

Collins may be an immediate contributor, but he doesn't have to be. We have a year.

Spikes out, Collins in on passing downs down?? Hightower moves into the middle??? One of those turtles has to come off the field ....right??

Hey look, he can rush the passer!! :D

Athletic DE/LB who we can send in on passing downs.
Question, can Collins also cover or is he solely a rush backer/end?

tremendous scheme flexibility. Very good production. And his combine was reminiscent of Von Miller two years ago and Bruce Irvin last year. Very rare physical "fast-twitch" specimen.

Courtney Upshaw - Overweight, sluggish, slow, questionably lazy.

Jamie Collins - Explosive, fresk-ish

Play him OLB behind Jones, kind of like how Denver used Von Miller behind Dumervil.

Get a natural overload on one side for the pass rush and you can drop him into coverage too...or even zone blitz and drop Jones, rush Collins!

months back when everybody picked the type of player they wanted the Pats to focus on in this draft, I said I wanted BB to get his LT....4.59 forty...6'4" 250...10 sacks last season on a team that hated its' new head coach and laid down on him.

Go ahead and cry and moan and biatch because BB didn't take YOUR genius pick, Junior GM Wannabe...THIS kid can play. 4.59.p...a tenth of a second slower than that mash unit cracked out safety the Rats picked at #9.

Everyone said we needed an LB who could cover, here he is hopefully. Our front 7 is only getting deeper and more flexible.

I realise that this isn't necessarily all that meaningful, but the one disappointing thing watching Collins is that I realise we won't be getting Kyle Van Noy next year and I much prefer his tape. Oh well.

I've been saying OLB was quietly one of our biggest needs for the past couple months. Glad to see I wasn't completely wrong. While I wans't thinking Jamie Collins specifically, I'm glad we took him. I won't call him a freak or a specimen because that isn't fair to him as a human being, but he has some supreme athleticism that is going to make our coaches very happy. Comparing him versus Dion Jordan is going to be fun for years to come.

I was just thinking exactly this.
