We can set up a thread for the Patriots first round selection, if they can't trade down, later.

I'm still going to watch all of round 1, even though its highly likely we trade out.

And with the 29th pick of the NFL draft, the New England Patriots... we have a trade! We have a trade! Patriots reportedly trading with Oakland? NO it's Buffalo!

Reports are coming in... the Buffalo Bills are trading their 2nd round selection this year and their 1st next year for pick #29, and their selection IS... Ryan Nassib!! Whoa, hold onto your hats folks, this draft just got HOT!

Keeping it Patriots related:

I expect the Patriots to trade their First Round selection for either a future First Round selection, and possibly acquire a Second or Third Round selection, too.

Regardless, I think the team will come out of this draft with 2x Second Rounders, 1x Third Rounder, 1x Fourth Rounder, 2x Seventh Rounders.

With those selections, I expect DL/CB with the first 2 picks, and a WR taken no earlier than the 3rd Round. I would not be shocked if the Patriots don't even draft a WR this year, they may just opt to sign a bunch of UDFA WR and hope 1 can stick.

My personal hopes for the Patriots (as in, I hope at least 1 can be selected): Datone Jones, Jesse Williams, D.J. Hayden, Robert Woods, Markus Wheaton

HECK YESSSSSSS!!!!!

You know that it's officially draft time when PATSNUTme starts this thread :rocker:

Thanks for keeping the tradition alive :D

Hey - -I'm watching NFL Network. They have this wicked funny thing going where they made up a player, a potential draftee, named Leon Sandcastle. Thing is ... wait for it ... it's really DEION SANDERS! Get it? Has anyone here seen it? I bet not because I've never seen a thread on it. Awesome. I mean, NFLN really should promote this stuff more. It's like you have to catch it at just the right time to see it.

And now it's Adam Schefter reporting on the trade. What's the deal Adam?
"Well the patriots have now acquired the Bills 2014 1st round pick, CJ Spiller, and a 2072 5th round pick. Quite a haul."

Robert Woods/Justin Hunter with pick 29 is my dream/hope.

Reality = trade down and cry.

If I disregard need and fit, the one player I want as a Pat is Marcus Lattimore. Not only is there tremendous upside, he's one of the nicest people around. Very impressive guy.

I want Wheaton badly

He's one of my favorite personalities ever, but what exactly are we hoping he contributes to the Patriots?

i may not even watch...well maybe the first 10 picks..becasue most of us know the pats will not pick tonight

give me Swope too and I'll really be happy.

Why? They can get the same value players well into the 2nd round. A lot of depth in the draft whether pats pick at 29...or 40..or even 50 .

They have barley any picks..they need to get more..aka will trade down and you will probably be disappointed as i think they go D with first pick...DE or CB i hope

Another DE to go along with jones would be great

Jay Glazer says DJ Hayden will be the first CB taken tonight apparently.

Watching the NFLN, you absolutely know that Joe Namath wants to kiss Melissa Starks. Not a coincidence he got placed next to her for the interview rather than Phil Simms.

"I want to kiss you, I couldn't care less about the game"

exactly my thoughts the entire time.
