Maybe if a Keenan Allen is available at #29 BB will make a historic break with the past and draft a highly rated WR....but I doubt it. I doubt Allen will be there and I doubt BB is going to change a lifetime of draft history and pick a WR in the first. Back in the day when the Pats actually WON Super Bowls, and not just got to them, they didn't have nearly the receiving talent that they have right now....and the season doesn't start for another 4.5 months.
Right now MY ideal realistic draft would be Alabama DT Jesse Williams at #29 and Athletic freak, but football risk, DE Margus Hunt at #59, after that the WR weenies can have their fill, though I think there will still be some decent DB options in the 3rd round
I'll be surprised if we trade down, not because it doesn't make eminent sense. The talent pool at the end of first and the top of the 2nd will have the same grades. But the fact is that nearly EVERYONE is looking to trade down this year. I just wonder if there will be a market for the 29th pick, and even if there is, in such a buyer's market, can they get decent value in a trade.
