That would likely put both Hernandez and Gronkowski to both miss training camp and possibly put Hernandez on PUP at the start of the season....it's a little bit concerning, especially without viable receivers.

Brady will probably have Edelman and a whole different set of receivers to throw to in July, this training camp is going to be interesting.

So long as they are 100% for the season it should be fine. But this is still annoying news, maybe the silver lining is Brady will

Yep,if Belichick is finally going to get that top of the line WR we all were looking for the past few years....this is the time to do it

We can't afford another WR bust in the draft.

Re: Update: Hernandez expected to miss 4 months

Total misread by the OP. 4 months allows H to be present the last weeks of camp. He would most likely be on the pre-season PUP which ends before game one of the season not necessarily the PUP that requires missing the 1st 6 in season games.

Re: Update: Hernandez expected to miss 4 months

The report sounds optimistic that he'll be ready for the regular season, which is a good thing. He does need to shake the injury bug, though. And I do agree with the OP that we can't afford to miss at WR in the draft.

Erika Leigh, on the other hand, just tweeted that Hernandez is dead. So we'll see what happens there.

Re: Update: Hernandez expected to miss 4 months

One would expect Hernandez to be managed carefully once training camp opens, possibly even opening on the physically unable to perform list, but there is enough time for him to be ready for the season barring any unexpected setbacks.

Yes it is April ,so lets do the count
th

April (1), May(2) June (3) July (4), so even if we were talking mid April, he should be back by mid August at the latest. I don't see any PUP with the # of months left.

Re: Update: Hernandez expected to miss 4 months

Why didn't they do the shoulder surgery earlier? I really feel like brady and Ahern were not on the same page last season. Missing training camp or any portion of it does not help this....

Re: Update: Hernandez expected to miss 4 months

Geez, can the TE's on this team be any more of injury magnets or what

I am not sure. It doesnt say which four months he is going to miss. Lets hope its not September, October, November, and December.

Because people don't have surgery as the first option. People like to see how it heals over time and respond to PT before undergoing surgery. You can tell it is not your shoulder they are cutting.

Remember folks, we have no need for a wide receiver we have Ballard, Gronk, Hernadez, and Amendola !!

Both top TEs on PUP to begin training camp. Does BB rely on Ballard, Hooman and Fells -- or does he get tempted by Eifert or Ertz if they fall to the Pats?

I think Ballard's presence allows BB to stay focused on WRs in this draft. I think he is going to pick 2 WRs.
1) One from Hopkins or Woods -- whichever is there in the late 1st, high 2nd
2) One from Aaaron Dobson or Ryan Swope or Rodgers in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Unless he has luck trading back -- I expect him to go best available receiver who can play in the Pats offensive scheme.

Hernandez had the surgery around April 1st. That means he will be ready (barring a setback) around August 1st. So he should be ready for training camp although they may hold him out the first two weeks as a precaution.

Doesn't sound like a big deal.

The team could conceivably trade down or out of the first round into the early second and still get two quality prospects at WR. Swope should be available in the third and they would pretty much get the pick of the litter, aside from Hunter and Austin, in the second round. But yes, the team absolutely has to draft two WR's. That's a fact regardless of the health of the two TE's. Unfortunately, the team has also put itself in a position where it can't miss on those selections either.

What are the odds of either of them entering the playoffs healthy?

How about we sit them until like week 13?

shoulders aren't that bad. He's young and has trainers at this disposal. He'll be fine.

I just recently discovered who Erika Leigh "Lee" is. I would love to know what are the opinions are about her website and whatever it is she is calling as a career these days.

Does she work for a newspaper or television station, like NECN, that I don't know about?

Edit: Nevermind - I just saw her LinkedIn profile. She needs to finish her studies at CUNY and stop pretending that she knows what she is talking about.

Shoulder surgery sux... I had my rotator cuff repaired almost a year ago and it's still not right.

granted I'm no pro athlete, but...

I had the same and was back working out in six weeks. I had a structural issue repaired at the same time which was the cause of the rotator tear. I'm sure there are lots of variables.

As long as he and Gronk are 100% in December, not worried at all.
Remember that guy from the Giants coach B stole last season?!?:rocker: It sure looks like a stroke of genius now...and people still second guess BB:rolleyes:.
