The Jets will receive multiple draft picks, including the 13th overall choice, from the Buccaneers if Revis passes his physical.

New York Jets to trade Darrelle Revis to Tampa Bay Buccaneers, pending physical -- source - ESPN New York

This would have a 3 game impact on the Patriots this season, since the Patriots play the Bucs.

New cap space for Jets to re-sign Abraham???

I opened a thread for this an hour ago. Good to have him out of the division.

Maybe we can move #29 to them for a 2nd, 3rd and our 4th back for the Talib trade.

Great move by the Jets if they are truly embracing their eventual 1-15/2-14 year to get Manziel or Bridgewater next season, canning Rex, Sanchez, and Holmes in the process.

If the Jets are smart they'll trade down and try to get another 2014 first, as noone their drafting at 9 or 13 can fix that turdbowl of a team.

What for? He doesn't have the moves Rex Ryan likes his Elephant to have. He has some power though. Not like Suggs though.

So i'm totally expecting to hear this on Thursday now

The Patriots have traded the 29th overall pick to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 43rd and 112th selections

good move by both teams. jets get some nice picks to rebuild with and bucs get someone who can actually cover. tampa has tons of $ to spend so I doubt they are that worried about paying him. could see the bucs making the playoffs with a solid year from freeman.

If the JEST have the #1 overall pick, and I'm Johnny Manziel (who, IIRC, is not exactly concerned about the $$), I'm staying in school. :)

I'm still hoping for true Jet greatness on Thursday.

"The Jets have traded 9 and 13 to the Jaguars for pick 2. They select, Geno Smith, QB, WVU....."

A lot of players and their agents get big wide eyes when it comes to the potential of the New York market. NY may be the exact place he wants to go play. Can you imagine if he was able to turn around a broken NY franchise? He'd be one of the biggest mega sports celebrities in the city

The way things are shaping up, they can probably wait until 13 for Geno (Nassib and his 42 on the wonderlic to Buffalo).

Your probably right, I was just showing how the Jets could really make an epic JEST decision. :D

If the Jets are planning on drafting two players and want to be smart about it, go Tavon Austin and one of Cooper/Warmack I guess. No point in drafting a QB when you practically have to start Sanchez due to his laughable contract.

Not that I really care, but the Bucs paying $15 million to a player AND giving up 3 picks is lame, for them. Especially for a CB. I know they have money to spend, but that's just dumb.

I would have spent it instead on free agents and then taken my chances in the draft.

I would have brought in Elvis Dumervil, Sebastian Vollmer, Dannell Ellerbe and someone else (confession: I have no idea who is on their roster).

Dumb.

Ah, well if it's blatant Jets bashing - then go right ahead.

My absolute dread is that they get Ziggy. I'd hate to have to root against him.

Revis-Barron-Goldson-??? is the makings of a really good secondary.

Yes, it is.

But $15 million and 3 picks for one player?

I bet that secondary is better off with, say, Rodgers-Cromartie and millions to spend and 3 picks.

It has the makings of an elite secondary, particularly since they can now move Ronde Barber into the slot.
