Speculated INJURY

FWIW On the WEEI football show the week after the title game they were talking about the WR spot going forward. When Jackson's name came up, Steve Nelson who was at the game sitting in the crowd mentioned Jackson being on the sidelines with his leg wrapped.

oh sh*t. Sun of a b*tch.

well it probably is true.

Everyone knows we have weaknesses at DB, WR, and LB

But nobody has a clue who we are going to draft.

Why would the pats ever advertise that one their biggest weaknesses just got weaker?

this somewhat reminds me of when Thomase leaked that Bruschi got a broken arm.....

Hearing that CJ got hurt from two sources, and the fact that BB won't declare an injury if he isn't forced to at gunpoint, makes me have a terrible feeling about CJ.

I swear to god if Chad is injured for TC..i will flip out. Now..i asked who the source was and everything but i didnt get a reply yet(posted 5 min ago) if theres an injury..i guess we heard it here first. there better not be anything.. i mean could it be? some paper would have reported something wouldnt they?

anyways..dont flip on me for this thread..im a huge CJ fan and im very worried and i hope this is all false

I'm skeptical whether this is true or not, but if it is, ohh well, you shouldn't have expected much from Jackson this upcoming season anyway. Sign Northcut and/or draft a WR in the mid rounds and we'll be fine.

Motherf**k.

Well, maybe it's not as bad as ACL or Achilles. Let's hope he just tweaked something or did something mild. It's hard to imagine someone doing something to their ACL or Achilles and not visibly being seen on the field in horrible writhing pain. Likewise, I don't think you sit on the sideline and wrap an Achilles or ACL. You go to the locker room and continue to writhe in pain.

Assume it's true, BB's primary concern wouldn't be the draft, it's Free Agency, the handful of servicable WRs are already overpriced in a buyer's market. Most draftniks had the Pats taking a WR in the draft anyway.

I'm with you. I've torn both ACL's (at different times) and you are absolutely right, you are not walking off the field, at least for a while. As for Achilles tendons, thankfully I have never had that one but I remember seeing Vinny Testeverde pop his when the Jets played us in 2002 (I think), and "writhing in pain" doesn't even begin to describe it.

On the other hand, I always react to unconfirmed injury reports with denial. Go back and see what I said when Rodney hurt his knee.

Plus, one of the sources on CJ's injury, Scott Wright said the word "probably" out. Assuming his source is not full of BS, all he knows from his close source is that CJ's test came back with bad test results.

maybe its a strain ACL, not a complete tear. I don't see someone walking off the field with a COMPLETE tear.

Players have actually continued playing in the game they were hurt with torn ACLs. It all depends on the degree of the tear.

Well, if the tear wasn't as bad, then he wouldn't be out for the season.

I find it really hard to believe that nobody else has heard of this or spoken to his agent. All the mock drafts along with all the Boston reporters not saying a word. But one guy talking about it matter of factly, like it's already known? Seem's fishy to say the least.

He wasn't buying you drinks and rubbing your knee was he?

I'm going to bank on this not being true for my sanity, one of the things that has somewhat lessened the blow of our Colt-delivered offseason was knowing Maroney and Jackson would be back and better next season.

Somebody with a tape of the game - if they haven't burnt it, which I would have - ought to go back and see if they can find any evidence.

I deleted it. :)

We'll all know for sure when the injury report comes out on Wednesday (September 5th). :bricks:

he could only have one leg, and BB would list him as questionable.

Interesting that you should say that. I've never done the ACL but I've been with a lot of people who have, unfortunately. I can remember them saying that it was a lot less painful than you would imagine, but that the "pop" left no room for doubt. I remember one guy sitting in the back of the bus after being strapped up in the hospital and chatting away on his mobile to his clients. But perhaps he was just a lot braver than I would be in the same circumstances.

I imagine that competent physios can diagnose a torn ACL in about five seconds flat and that they wouldn't allow a player to sit around afterwards: it would, at the very least, be immediate full ice-packs and (if necessary) surgery soon after.
