WR's that is.

In my opinion, we go get WR's in rounds 1 and 3.
In fact, my mock now is-

1.DeAndre Hopkins, WR
2.Darius Slay, CB
3.Aaron Dobson, WR
7.Jake Knott, OLB
7.Xavier Nixon-OL

Dobson is my binkie ! I'd be thrilled with this draft, like Slay a lot as well. Hopkins is a sweet pick too.

I don't think we'll take two. But, who knows? I'd like to trade out of 29 and pick up an extra 3. Draft Markus Wheaton with first 2nd rounder. Then, cb, s and olb. My thinking is that we sign Abraham and Brandon Lloyd.

I still feel that Bill will trade out of 29 (and I hope not for a 2014 pick, but for multiple 2013 picks),
and that his first pick will be a CB.
After that, he absolutely must take the best available WR with his second pick.

Unless he trades down early & often, I'm not sure if Bill will have enough picks to return to WR
before the draft ends. He better hit the UDFA market real, real hard.

I am guessing two, Robert Woods and Tavarres King.

My approach wouldn't change from what it has been the last few months. Trade back from 29 (maybe even twice) and take the best fit at WR in the 2nd and 3rd round. Lately my preference has been Quinton Patton in the 2nd and Da'Rick Rogers in the mid 3rd, but I am starting to think harder about Robert Woods with Emmanuel Sanders out of the picture. I wouldn't be against Woods and Patton/Rogers with Marquess Wilson in the later rounds. In the end I think the important thing is to just take good players. Don't get too cute and take Ryan Swope or overdraft Aaron Dobson, just take the best guys. That Taylor Price pick still makes absolutely no sense to me.

I'm guessing Wheaton in the 2nd & Harrison in middle/later rounds.

I think it should be three. One with the first pick (Wheaton, Woods, Patton for me), one later on day two (Mark Harrison, Marquess Wilson, Josh Boyce) and one in round 7 or UDFA (Courtney Gardner, Rashad Ross).

Look for us to move down in the first round and acquire picks, since we don't have picks in the fourth, fifth and sixth rounds.

I read one analyst who views Cal's Keenan Allen, as the second best WR in the draft. He could still be around early in the second. I think he's the guy who can win most one-on-one battles.

We don't need a speedster if we can have David Givens back.

We need picks early at receiver and CB. Notice how much the defense improved once Talib entered the picture. We have to land a quality replacement in the likely case he walks after this season.

So I expect a draft where we end up with more picks than what we went into.

La Tech's Patton is a great choice in the second.

Don't care what it takes, but one of C. Patterson, or D. Hopkins would go a long ways in repairing this WR group.
Where would they have to trade up to have a shot at Patterson? 15?
Either way I think, if they get one of those guys that's all they need.

A lot of Twitter chatter that Patterson might fall out of the 1st. Apparently he had terrible interviews. I very much doubt we take him even if he's available.

Wow, that is crazy. His former coaches have been raving about this kid.

I will wait to hear either:

New England trades No. 29 (640) to Philadelphia for No. 35 (550) and No. 101 (96)

or

New England trades No. 29 (640) to Cincinnati for No. 37 (530) and No. 118 (58) and No. 140 (31) and No. 182 (18)

:rocker:

I really like Da' Rick Rogers, but his baggage leads me to believe he isn't even on BB's radar.

Wanted to get a take on what you guys thought of Wheaton out of Oregon St. I imagine he will be around in the second for the taking.

I agree with the double dip idea, but wouldn't go WR in Rd 1.
Rd.1 is for a big body.
I would go WR in 2nd and 3rd.
The 2 I like are Stedman Bailey and Chris Harper.

I think BB will definitely trade out of the 1st round, seems like there won't be a run on receivers until the 2nd round.

I'm with ya man, big fan of Da'Rick Rogers, reminds me of an even bigger Anquan Boldin. I noticed he wasn't on any list linking him to the Patriots (no visits or interviews), so that might be an indication that the pats don't like him. Which is a shame, I think he will be a star.
