Rumor: Pats seeking to trade RB Jeff Demps for draft pick

It'd be nice to have an additional 7th rounder.

Yeah, I cannot imagine that there would be much of any demand for an undrafted free agent that has yet to play a down in the NFL - and that's before considering the fact that he is apparently more interested in another sport.

Eh, trading Demps for a 7th would be pointless. I'd rather just keep him.

The Jags maybe?

(pfw in joke there)

Simply bait to troll for idiot GMs

Except that there was a fair amount of interest in him before he signed with the Patriots; IIRC they weren't his only suitor (à la Armond Armstead).

If only Al Davis was still around.....

weren't the jets another one of the teams that offered him a deal when we got him?

If a GM that may trade for Demps' contract is classified by you as an idiot, then what name do you call the GM who currently owns his contract?

Learn critical thinking...

1) Pats GM picked him up for 0 (that's zero) draft picks

2) Since that time, Demps has shown preferential interest in track vs preparing his body for NFL training camp. This is known as new information not available in 20/20 hindsight recaps

I would think his rights could be worth a little more than a seventh but not much. Not sure I would want to give up his rights only for a seven so I think maybe a 5 or 6 if anyone bites. But I doubt it probably just a feeler.

If we don't trade demps, he'll be released, no question. Take the 7th and consider us lucky. His comments/attitude don't fit with how BB does things. He's gone, and soon, I'd think. Too bad.

His commitment is a question mark to be sure, but the track thing may not work out and to me it looks like he has more speed and game-breaking ability than we would likely find in a low round pick who is unlikely to make the team anyway. We are a short on play makers.

Could there be some way to keep him on PUP until the track season is finished? That way he's not on the 53 until November. Just costs Kraft cash.

There has to be at least one team willing to give them an 8th rounder for him?

Scratch that, he's fast, the Raiders will give their 2nd.

It's not your father's Raiders anymore! :)
