Warner doesn’t think Pats cheated in Super Bowl, unless he does

I think Vrabel cheated up to the line, then Law cheated off the receiver and they picked him clean. Damn cheaters.

Seems to me that alot of us ourselves are having issues moving on from the whole thing. Seriously who cares

It's no big thing UNLESS you talk with NFL fans when you're outside of NE. Then it's all you hear. Get a clue.

You're right, PWP. If you don't travel outside of NE, you are able to enjoy relative immunity from the hatred and scorn. However, anywhere else you go if you identify yourself as a NE fan or, worse, wear Patriots' gear you're asking for trouble. It's not an exaggeration nor is it just here or there. It's everywhere. And the claim from other teams' fans is always the same: if it wasn 't a big deal, why was the penalty so harsh?; and if it wasn't a big deal why didn't NE defend itself? I'd be curious how those who dismiss this so easily would answer those questions face-to-face with other teams' fans.

Most other teams fans like to have it both ways. They'll say "If it wasn't a big deal why was the penalty so harsh, huh?" and then in the same breath "Man, they're such cheaters...the penalty should have been way harsher!" Can't have it both ways, guys.

We need to enjoy the fact that we are still so hated. It means we are still successful and still an elite team, even 8 years after our last Super Bowl win.

Also, I went to The Hall back in December and I checked. There is no tarnish whatsoever on the Patriots 3 Lombardi Trophies. Let the crybaby fans and the players that can't accept getting beat by the better team fall back on this excuse. It's still just that; an excuse.

There's no denying that others won't let it go. But we're really not letting go of it either and continuing to give the Faulks and Warners attention, on our board designed for discussion about our team.

With all due respect, and I mean that, this topic IS discussion about our team and how it's perceived outside of our provincial cocoon. Pretending that it's not a bid deal will not prevent it from being a big deal. I'm not saying that we need to be preoccupied or obsessed by it, but ignoring it only makes our team, and us by association, look more guilty. The only way this will ever fade into obscurity is via a full-blown frontal assault by Bob Kraft and the team's administration and we all know that's not going to happen. My passion about this topic is directly proportional to how much I love this team, and it makes me sick that my team refuses to defend itself. An astute observer earlier noted how Bountygate faded quickly into obscurity because the Saints had the intestinal fortitude to say, "Screw you - we're not going to take this lying down." Good for them, at least we know their gonads aren't pebble-sized.

im glad we are still talking about this 7 years later

First, it's 6 years and it's only ignored here. But I'm done with it here.

If there's some new development sure, but that's not the case here from what I saw in that article. Just the typical whining from a past opponent who's still bitter. What exactly is there to be gained by rehashing this discussion? I respect your passion and totally agree with your sentiments but at this point and in this particular article I just think the horse has been beaten dead enough.

I was in Orlando Florida the week of our first SB with the Giants. I walked into a drug store wearing a Pat's cap and some guy walks up and asks if I was a Pat's fan. His demeanor was friendly at first so I figured he was just going to talk about the upcoming game against the Giants. I told him I was from NH and as a result was in fact a huge Pats fan. His pleasant demeanor changed to a nasty glare as he inquired how any true sports fan could root for cheaters. I told him his own ex-coach Jimmy Johnson admitted he did the same exact thing all the time, and how it was being blown out of proportion. The idiot started raising his voice and his eyes started to glare even more as he insisted "You're farking team are cheaters"! I then realized there was nothing I could say to diffuse this idiots rabid hatred for the Pats, so I said, "bye the way, thanks for Welker and the Fins could cheat all the wanted and they would still not make the play offs". I also added that if he was a jags fan the same goes. The freakin idiot actually continued his rant in the parking lot. I gave him the finger, stared him down, he got in his truck and drove off. I then realized how close I came to getting in a meaningless ridiculous fight, and no longer wore my Pats cap in Florida.
