Some surprises in this draft. I am trying out all different mocks with different scenarios! Hope you like it.

Jags need a pass rusher.

*TRADE*(Jets traded #9,#39, #106, and 2014 1st to Raiders)
3. Jets- Geno Smith QB West Virginia
Dirty Sanchez is horrible. They trade up to take the best QB in the draft! 0-16??

4. Eagles- Eric Fisher OT Central Michigan
Eagles need to protect their QB. They take the next best OT off the board.

5. Lions- Ezekiel Ansah DE BYU
Lions need to upgrade the DE position.

*TRADE*(Dolphins trade #12, #54, #146, #217 to Browns)
6. Dolphins- Dee Milliner CB Alabama
Sean Smith leaving Miami hit them hard, they panic, trade up to take the best corner.

Cards take the best OT available to protect Palmer.

8. Bills- Cordarrelle Patterson WR Tennessee
Bills need a WR after losing Donald Jones and David Nelson.

9. Raiders(from Jets)- Sharrif Floyd DT Florida
They acquire picks and get their guy. They need to replace tommy kelly.

Titans using need instead of BPA, they take Chance to upgrade their interior line.

Cowboys trade up to get the best Safety available.

13. Jets- Star Lotulelei NT Utah

Panthers need an upgrade to their Dline

*TRADE*(Bears traded #20, #84, and #153 to Saints)
15. Bears- Jonathan Cooper OG UNC
I heard a rumor from SI that Bears wanted to trade up to get Cooper. They trade up before the Chargers can snatch him up with the 18th pick.

16. Rams- Tavon Austin WR West Virginia
Rams use this pick to replace Amendola

17. Chargers(from Steelers)- Barkevious Mingo OLB LSU
Chargers get their pass rusher

18. Browns(from Cowboys) Xavier Rhodes CB Florida State
Browns need a CB to compliment Haden and they also acquired picks.

19. Vagiants- Alec Ogletree ILB Georgia
My cousin is a huge Giants fan and he said they need a LB so here ya go.

20. Saints(from Bears)- Bjoern Werner DE Florida State
Saints need a complete upgrade on defense.

Bengals need to protect Dalton.

22. Rams(from Redskins)- Tyler Eifert TE Notre Dame

Packers need a RB.

27. Texans- DeAndre Hopkins WR Clemson
Texans need a WR to compliment Johnson and maybe replace him in the future.

28. Broncos- Sylvester Williams DT UNC
Broncos need interior pass rushers.

*TRADE*(Jaguars traded #33, #98, #169, and 2014 4th to Patriots)
29. Jaguars- Matt Barkley QB USC
Bills are still in need of a QB, the Jags trade up to get their replacement for Gabbert.

30. Falcons- Damontre Moore DE Texas A&M
Falcons need a replacement for Abraham.

31. Colts(from 49ers)- Manti Te'o ILB Notre Dame
Colts switching to 3-4, they need more ILBs.

32. Ravens- Kevin Minter ILB LSU
Ravens get their replacement for Ray Lewis.

Patriots 7 RD mock(continued from this mock draft)
33.(From Jaguars) Jonathan Banks CB Mississippi State
Patriots need all the help they can get at the CB position. Talib injury prone and questions about Dennard, they take the best available CB.

*TRADE*(Browns traded #54, #80, and 2014 6th for Ryan Mallett QB)
54. Quinton Patton WR Louisiana Tech
He's a big physical WR that the Patriots need.

59. Blidi Wreh-Wilson CB UCONN
Patriots draft another CB.

80. Sig Moore OLB UCONN
Depth at LB and uncertainty about Spikes. This guy is fast and hard hitter.

*TRADE*(Patriots traded #91 and #235 for Emanuel Sanders from the Steelers)

98. Tyler Bray QB Tennessee
Another QB project.

169. Joe Kruger DE Utah
Depth for the Dline

226. Sam Brenner OG Utah
Interior line depth.

That would be a very solid draft for the Patriots. Nice job.....

I imagine the Jets might be a little gun-shy after giving up considerable assets to move up in the first round to draft their current quarterback ...and I'm not sure Geno is an improvement.

Well, we take care of WR and build some solid depth in the defensive backfield, but where is the pass rusher? Were you working on the assumption that we're bringing in Abraham/Freeney/or another pass rusher? Also not a fan of Bray. Way too much of a gunslinger for my liking.

EDIT: Solid mock otherwise, though.

Well, we take care of WR and build some solid depth in the defensive backfield, but where is the pass rusher?
Who's your 3rd round pass rusher ? Just curious as I have no names for that right now.

I'd love a top guy but in some order it seems like we have to take a CB and WR 1 & 2. We have little depth at CB and don't even know Dennard's situation yet. And we all know the WR situtation.

Understanding we may end up with two #2s and two #3s after a trade down, right now we just have the 1, 2, 3 in a draft that will be tough to trade down.

That why, although I'd love 2 WR I think we can only afford one (and then another shot in the 7th) because we have to get a CB and, preferably, a young pass rusher or possibly even a LB with Spikes only having a year left.

I'm not really on board with drafting two corners and no pass rusher.

I'm not really on board with drafting two corners and no pass rusher.
With our draft pick situation I see no option other than CR, WR, DE in some order. Of course we'd all love to trade down but we'll need a trading partner.

Gut feeling, Belichick will trade down even if it's a bad value trade for him. I could see us going from #29 to the mid to late second for just a 4&5 or something like that.

I fully expect the Patriots to trade out of the first round but drafting CB's and WR's in the second round has been an excercise in futility.IMHO.

*TRADE*(Jets traded #9,#39, #106, and 2014 1st to Raiders)
3. Jets- Geno Smith QB West Virginia
Dirty Sanchez is horrible. They trade up to take the best QB in the draft! 0-16??

Wow! Taking Smith would be bad enough. Throwing in a 2014 1st (which should be near the top with the Jets being a dumpster fire this year) would cause an open revolt against the Jets front office. If Smith flamed out, this reinvention of the Jets would fail and it may be 6-8 years from now until they fully recover.

*TRADE*(Dolphins trade #12, #54, #146, #217 to Browns)
6. Dolphins- Dee Milliner CB Alabama
Sean Smith leaving Miami hit them hard, they panic, trade up to take the best corner.

Panic, schmanic. Moving from 12 to 6 and giving up a bunch of sludge in a very shallow draft would be an amazing move.

*TRADE*(Steelers traded #17, #79, #115, and 2014 4th to Chargers)
11. Steelers- Jarvis Jones OLB Georgia
Steelers traded up to get their coveted pass rusher after releasing key players.

The Steelers really need some youth and they tend to draft niche players, so they are a team that could really do well with this draft class. I see them staying put and letting the draft come to them.

For the Bolts, not getting Lane Johnson may prompt them to want to trade down...but they would really have to be comfortable with the pass rushers they might have to settle for. They get Mingo later in your mock, but it wouldn't be a sure thing he would be there.

*TRADE*(From Browns to Cowboys. Cowboys traded #18,#80, #114, 2014 4th)
12. Cowboys- Kenny Vaccaro S Texas
Cowboys trade up to get the best Safety available.

The Browns are already young except their QB is amazingly already in his 30's. Their division is opening up for the first time in years so I'm not sure why they would be collecting mid-round picks in a mediocre draft class.

Vacarro to the 'boys makes all the sense in the world but I'm not sure they need to jump up to get him.

*TRADE*(Jets traded Revis to Buccaneers for #13 and 2014 4th)
13. Jets- Star Lotulelei NT Utah
Jets basically lost their whole defensive line, they start by replacing Pouha.

Lotulelei shouldn't droop this far but after seeing Wilfork make it into the 20's, I guess anything can happen.

Patriots 7 RD mock(continued from this mock draft)
33.(From Jaguars) Jonathan Banks CB Mississippi State
Patriots need all the help they can get at the CB position. Talib injury prone and questions about Dennard, they take the best available CB.

I'm thinking Banks is a target as well. He kind of plays like Talib so having him as depth in 2013 and a replacement in 2014 makes sense.

*TRADE*(Browns traded #54, #80, and 2014 6th for Ryan Mallett QB)
54. Quinton Patton WR Louisiana Tech
He's a big physical WR that the Patriots need.

If that is all the Pats can get for Mallett, they should keep him. I know Patton is getting a lot of buzz, but I haven't seen "big physical" attached to him. Outside of a top SS time, dude has thoroughly unimpressive measurables. Haven't seen LaTech play except for their bowl game against TCU so I could be missing something. But betting on a skill guy from the WAC translating to the NFL isn't terribly comforting...particularly in a draft this deep at WR.

59. Blidi Wreh-Wilson CB UCONN
Patriots draft another CB.

Don't hate the pick, but wondering if there is room. Already have 4 safeties (McCourty, AWilson, Gregory, TWilson), 5 corners (Talib, Dennard, Banks, Arrington, Dowling) and a couple of STers (Ebner, Cole). Would they really be able to carry one more DB? I guess you could assume that injuries will sort that out before the final cutdown, but I would have to think there are better ways they could have gone in the 2nd round.

80. Sig Moore OLB UCONN
Depth at LB and uncertainty about Spikes. This guy is fast and hard hitter.

Meh. Not making me feel better about trading Mallett.

*TRADE*(Patriots traded #91 and #235 for Emanuel Sanders from the Steelers)

This would obviously have to happen before the draft so he would be in the bank. That would alter my perception of Patton. They seem too similar. Maybe I would be more inclined to look for a pure speed guy as a #3 or a raw guy with measurables that can be developed. There are only so many passes to go around and Sanders/Patton/Jones would seem to be competing for the same slice of the pie.

98. Tyler Bray QB Tennessee
Another QB project.

I like Bray though I don't see him making it to pick 98. I do like the idea of being ready to scoop up a QB slider...but losing Mallett makes a QB more of a priority.

169. Joe Kruger DE Utah
Depth for the Dline

226. Sam Brenner OG Utah
Interior line depth.

Fine later picks in this draft class.

That's why I have to go under the assumption that the OP thinks we add one remaining in FA. If the draft were to go like this, and we don't pick up an extra pass rusher through FA, we as Pats fans can all sit back and look forward to QB's like Flacco knitting a sweater in the pocket before finding an open receiver downfield... once again.

Good work. Although I doubt the Dolphins trade up for a CB. I think where they are picking right now is a comfy spot between getting another CB without giving up the farm or a really good OT still.

I like that you traded out of the first for us. Sio Moore and Tyler Bray (he's been my QB binkie since about late September) are great picks where you took them and it feels about right. I'm not big on Patton and think two CBs might be too much this year, although the value is certainly there.

Good job though and thanks for taking the time.

Great job on the mock. I would love for Barkley to be available at #29 helping BB extract as much as possible for the pick.

Unless the other teams do a secret handshake deal to not trade with BB, I think BB trades #29.

QBs dropping is a double edged sword. It's great if all we want to do is trade out of the 1st, but it sucks if we want a top prospect to fall to us by there being a big run on positions we don't need (like QB).
