I know he's old. The Dolphins probably won't resign him, so would you want him back to backup Wilfork?

If we wanted him to back up Wilfork we wouldn't have let him go in the first place.

We have Wright and Smith now.

What is wrong with Mike Wright? Why did the Pats let Traylor go? Why would he be needed?

The only reason he was here whne he was is because Wilfork was a rookie learning a new position who couldn't be expected to be the full time NT. Wright is an adequate back up as of now and who knows what could happen with Smith. Plus Traylor is really old.

LeKevin Smith is too small to play nosetackle. He's more of a d-tackle in a 4-3 set

"What is wrong with Mike Wright"; you're joking I assume. This was the guy I saw getting blown off the line of scrimage during the last Dolts drive, or was I seeing things. Traylor is old and fat and done........

No, you weren't seeing things, Mike Wright got manhandled

I thought Traylor was leaning towards retirement.

While depth is always good I'm inclined to have my depth be younger, up and coming players.

BB has usually had those players as backups, using the veterans as stop gaps until the younger players are ready. Maybe Traylor will remain unsigned, or signed for camp and then cut (thus keeping him off another team in camp), effectively serving as a shadow roster player in case of injury during the season - but while I wouldn't close the book on Tractor Traylor, I'd prefer to see a younger FA or draft pick on the roster.

Smith has more of a nose tackle build than Wright does, and in fact Wright seemed to be moving toward DE in training camp. I have no opinion of Smith at this point, but if he's not ready there's a clear roster opening behind Wilfork. If we're looking young, how about Paul Soliai in the middle rounds of the draft?

Re: MWright v. LKSmith, my thoughts exactly, PC.

Mike Wright is not, Not, NOT a NT; he's a 3-4 DE/4-3 DT.

Paul Soliai? Woah...you do know your stuff. Does your husband/boyfriend appreciate what he has?

Wright and Smith have roster spots. That makes SIX.

Who would you rather have for the #7 DL? Traylor, Hill or Thomas? That, is the question.

Obviously, it is possible that he doesn't have anything less, or he doesn't want to play. However, if Wilfork were injured, I'd like a veteran to replace him.

Keith Traylor?

I thought I read somewhere he had an attitude problem...as in turd.

They certainally seemed to drop him like a hot potato at a position of need.

I dont think you are looking at the situation realistically. Most of the defense got blown away in the fourth quater. Do we think something is wrong with them as well?

Wright is not our starting NT, but he did just fine when Wilfork went down in the last few games. He is fine for a backup. Also, Big Sey or Warren could slide over and Green can play outside if wilfork went down for a while. That leaves Wright as a back up for multiple spots.

As far as Wright's playing time is concerned, it is not as if he is able to get anything significant. He is just a spot guy. He doesnt have to be Vince, he just needs to hold his own which he did in many games this year. The Colts game is not a gage for this guy's value.

I also reject those who claim he is not fit for the NT position. Vince is 6-2 325. Wright is 6-4 295 in his second season. As he adds mass in the next couple of years the coaches can easily get him to 325+ through training if they feel like he has the ability to play NT full time. Just my opinion.

I would watch it right there sonny.
I don't think you should be talking like that.

And you better pray to god that LeKevin doesn't read this.
He's been known to make grown men cry on numerous occasions

Not me. He's old, slow, fat, and always out of shape. I am a Wright fan.
