Hey Guys, I am up in Canada and we are slow to receive magazines here.

Are there any Draft guides on newsstands yet?

The Sporting News should be out around the first of March. ESPN the magizine also had one last year. Pro Football Weekly had one. all of these were outthe first part of March.

These are "primers" for me until I get my "big book' from PFW aound the second week of April.

What is the Big Book? Is it really good?

I call it the big book vs the magazines. I really like Pro Football Weeklys because it gives a lot of info - not just the positives but the negitives on each player. I started getting them in 1992 and one year I got Kipers instead. Kipers was Ok but I liked PFW better.

You can either order it and it will come in the mail - usually $20 US or Borders books have been carrying them. Last year they had a special. You order the "big book" they send you,the early magazine, and you get their on line draft site all for $24 US.

EDIT: and here it is:http://www.pfwstore.com/detail.aspx?ID=409

I'll be orderng mine today.

Am I missing something? I see the two mags, but don't see where it includes an on-line draft site?

It may not this year but it did last year. As I recall, I didn't even know about the "on line" part until I got the first one (magazine). Then it gave a code to use to for their on line draft site. I don't know if they will be doing the same thing this year.

But, $23 for the mag and the book is still a decent offer.

Interestingly it says mid March, they may have moved their schedule up this year.

Not sure about the on-line thing, last year they had a separate pay one that you could get access to if you bought a different supermarket style magazine.

Now I remember- you ordered the package too last year. Was the "on line" thing kind of a surprise when you got the first one (the magazine)? I think so now.

I don't think that the advertised it as I recall.

Also, I remember getting my magazine the first week of March, which was a surprise. I wasn't expecting it until after the 15th.

It wasn't a surprise because you told me about it :D

Last year, Pro Football Weekly or ESPN was on the newstands right about now. Any sign of either in the US?

Probably the first week in March.

I bought the Pro Football Weekly guide yesterday and I noticed Lindy's had a draft uide as well.

I expect the Sporting News guide next week, and the espn guide soon.

Gotta love draft season, especially when it comes with an awesome free agency season.

I ordered both the PFW and ESPN. You get online services thrown in.

I really hope the Sporting news comes out next week. I'm really hungry for draft guides.

I got the Sporting News NFL Draft Guide yesterday (Sat March 3rd) and the Lindy's one on Thursday March 1st. Didn't see the PFW one yet, but someone here says its out already (I'll pick it up Monday). The Lindy's one seems to have stolen the same exact format as the Sporting News one. The Sporting News one seems to have bulked up a bit, usually around 300+ prospects rated, now up to 425+, a good read. Also Street and Smith's has one. I usually buy all the draft guides that show up on the news stands. I used to get the $20+ Pro Football Weekly book, but seems like all the guides are catching up a little. It's still the best one though.

P.S.-I also ordered 4thandgoals Draft DVD. It is supposed to ship on March 5th, and has video of over 90+ prospects. I know you can find a lot of the videos online, but it's nice to have on a DVD. I usually record the draft on draft day as well. The draft is like a holiday for me, that's why I hate giving up a #2 pick for Welker.

I have looked high and low in this area and can't find the Sporting News Draft Guide.

Has anyone in NE area seen out yet? Borders? Barnes & Noble? Local Supermartket?

Found the Sporting News & PFW @ the Barnes & Noble in Burlington. Those are the only two they have thus far.
