Welker on being ex-Pat: 'That's the way it goes'

he knows it..pats know it...it's a business. Players leave no matter how much they are loved by fans or how many records they break for that team

This should be a new and refreshing thread...

"hes iz da chokin DOG imo".

Yeah that's the way it goes when someone makes a very big mistake.

Welker was on Jim Rome today.

Said Manning recruited him hard to Denver. Brady was disappointed to see him go. Welker and Rome used to own a race horse together. Welker sold his share in that pony and now owns a horse called "Undrafted." Sounds like hes heavy into horse racing.

If the Broncos take down the Pats this season or Denver wins the SB, this deal will haunt NE Bambino like. Im fine with letting Welker walk if the plan is to put better talent on the field with Brady.

So far that hasnt happened and this WR corp is looking like Reche Caldwells 2006 group.

Next thread...Welker a Dog Faker?

He is the choking DOG IMO.

Moonhead gets smashed just once in the neck, and it's all moot...Manling is a submoron...he's rich beyond his wildest dreams, he's "won" a Super bowl...yet he risks the rest of his life and mobility to win a rigged up Goodell Special Super Bowl....I can't begin to find the words to describe such sheer, utter mindlessness...and Welker has chosen to hitch his future to THIS hillbilly Willie...I fervently hope it all goes sideways and Welcher pours his heart out to Jim Rome at the end of a lost season admitting HIS stupidity.

The Patriots tried to screw Welker over, and he decided not to let them, and Welker's the stupid one?

This place, sometimes... :bricks:

I used to be an ex-pat.

In hindsight...yeah, Welker IS stupid...I know that's not really fair but I'm pi$$ed off still...but my main point is Manning....why throw in with a QB who is one misstep from a wheelchair?...Manning goes down early with neck problems and what does Welker have to fall back on?...he'll be another year older and spending a season catching a pass here and there from some JAG trying to impress Elway by throwing bombs to the outside receivers.

Welker was entrenched in the system HERE...Brady goes out Welker still makes his catches...unless BB suddenly decides to sign Jamarcus Russell

Screw him over by offering him not significantly less than what he ended up taking?

As Patrick amiably prodded Welker for more candor, telling Welker he was “on his side,” Welker said once more, “It is what it is, you move on and you just get ready for the next season and that’s just the way it goes.”

That's not going to fly on a Manning team. I'm sure he'll be blaming the offensive line or the kicker soon enough, though.

If Wes makes foot jokes about BB you'll know he's upset

The presence of Wes Welker will help to keep Manning out of a wheelchair. Now he'll have a slot receiver who knows how to get open, a slot receiver Manning can find quickly which will allow him to get rid of the ball before the D closes in.
The presence of Wes Welker has had a lot to do with Tom Brady being upright in recent years. It'll be very ironic if Brady is the one who goes down on a hit because he was holding the ball too long waiting for someone to come open.

Can someone please explain (again) what exactly is a dog faker? I used it the other day and got a puzzled look…and when the person asked me what that is, I made up some mumbled response.
Please define for the less-cool forum members like me!

Welker's stats will shrink. Truth.

I hope you are right…but the last time he had a non-HOF QB throwing to him in 2008, he ended up with:
111 catches, 1165yds, his career high in YAC, and also the 2nd lost play from scrimmage in his career.
But he is 5 years older and in a new system so hopefully he will regress.

As I remember, I don't think it has an official meaning. It was used by a poster here (whose name I forget) in reference to Randy Moss, and it's stuck as a running joke I think.

Unless someone else has more info on it, that's basically the gist.

This is what I remember too. I think it's some vague reference to Randy maybe taking plays off now and then. I think anyone sane would have a hard time making that case vs. Wes.
