I've been wondering what's up with him.

Expect much gnashing of teeth around here if he signs there for a reasonable contract.

This just goes to show that our Brass are absolutely clueless when it comes on to WR evaluation. Seriously Julian Edelman is the only Drafted WR *though* he is coverted QB who actually showed something on the Field since Deion Branch and David Givens many many many you'all got the point moons ago. Why wouldn't you offer him a reasonable contract? BB is not Immortal his reasonings as a GM can be questioned. I am still surprised that we wern't players for Wallace and Jennings in early FA. Knowing this Teams current track record at the position I am sure NONE of us want to go through the growing pains of a Rookie WR. If this Team doesn't have a plan B for a Proven WR via a Trade BB the GM should be tarred and feathered!

He wouldn't have beaten out Jones, Ebert or Molasses Mike anyway. Plus, punts were locking-in on him. Good riddance I say!

I'd be surprised if Edleman has been offered anything more than league minimum. They let Woodhead go under similar circumstances. The talk about Cruz is nonsense. There is no plan B. Belichick intends to build his wide receiving corps from minimum salary free agents and UDFAs.

Victor Cruz was not a "proven" WR in 2011. Your whining is silly.

Ebert interests me. But maybe that's me just being a complete overly optimistic Ollie.

...Why wouldn't you offer him a reasonable contract?...

Perhaps because, seemingly every season, the guy shatters like a flower dipped in liquid nitrogen and then banged on the ground?

Did you see the contracts that they both got? If you think that paying Wallace $13M per year is a good move, then just say that outright so that I can go ahead and put you on ignore.

Re: being clueless at WR evaluation, they were the only team that thought Moss was worth a 4th in 2007, and the only team that thought Welker was worth a 2nd the same year. Doesn't sound like cluelessness to me. All of the guys that they've drafted in the interim have been 50/50 flyers at best, on a tiny sample size, so while the results have been disappointed I'm not dumb enough to dismiss their entire philosophy based on such flimsy evidence. People like you were saying the same thing about Belichick drafting tight ends (and more credibly, too) right up until Gronk and Hernandez were picked.

As for Edelman, I'd like for the Pats to keep him around, even if it's strictly as a punt returner and backup to Amendola, with an outside (slim) chance at maybe continuing to develop into something more. Both of those roles have some value, and I doubt that he'll sign for enough to price himself out of that role. I won't be heartbroken if he leaves, though - he's had plenty of time to prove that he's part of the solution at WR, and he hasn't been able to do so.

Ya the Pats losing his whooping 17 rec 178 yards 1 TD a season is really gonna hurt them.

The fact that you are surprised they weren't in on overpaid Mike Wallace and a starting to breakdown Greg Jennings proves your ignorance.

I really hope for your health that you don't make this big of a deal about all of the other little things in your life.

Whiners be whining

How do you spell J-A-G?

Good player but we wouldn't have a problem replacing him.

What? You mean we aren't getting BOTH Edelman and Llyod to come crawling back? There are actually other NFL teams who may be interested in their services on the cheap? I'm shocked I tell you...
