Re: Re: Amendola To Practice With Brady Out West

I think the relevant question is not whether Amendola can surpass Welker's production over the last five years, but whether he can surpass Welker's production over the NEXT five years. That seems like a reasonable proposition that could be argued either way.

I could care less about stats just raise another Lombardi ...we've become Yankees fans ugh :banghead:

At least one or more of those guys could be related to USC, since it is their field. We saw much of the same with Manning when he worked out at Duke.

Maybe Robert Woods was there.

Here you go.

BTW, in a fitting irony, that photo was posted to Twitter by . . . Tee Martin.

Any word on workout injuries yet?

Now I'd like to see a pic of this. LOL.

USC Trojans ‏@USC_Athletics 31s

Today, New England @Patriots QB Tom Brady was working out at USC with none other than @terrellowens.

This is what Brady did with Welker. This is what Peyton Manning does with all his receivers.

Manning hasn't done it with Welker yet.

Maybe Robert Woods was there.

I was actually thinking that one or more of the unknowns could possibly have been training/staff/younger coach etc related to USC since it is their practice field, but who knows?

Dont get me wrong. I wanted WW to make the deal and stay.......but

thinking about it WW got his #s and moved the chains sure. But did you EVER get the feeling that he TOOK OVER A GAME.

Jesters /Ravens figured out the counter - PLAY WHACK A MOLE; by the 3Q he wont be as good and you can pull the game out.

One way of thinking about it is WW is BB's Defense in reverse. He traps the offense into giving the other team a freebie BEND-BUT-DONT BREAK D. IF you DONT have another (Explosive) option there like Gronkadez or Corey Dillon to make the D pay then you are just moving down the field but not getting in when it counts.

Personnally at least in the last AFCCG I blame the play calling and lack of reliance on running game more than the above theory; but it is a theory with some logic to it.

It isn't just last year. Many of the big games they've lost were lost because they abandoned the run and went pass-happy. That and their uncanny knack for giving up huge gains on third and long (which btw isn't really a trait of a bend-but-not-break d) have kept them ring free since 2004.

Having said all of that, I still wouldn't change places with any fan of any other team. This is an incredible time to be a Pats fan.

Yes there were several instances. I remember one game (Broncos??) where the entire Patriots offense was pathetic the entire first half, first drive of the second half Welker had like 6 catches for 80 yards and a TD. Just willed the Patriots back to life.

Welker has taken over games and dominated defenses on many occasions. I wouldn't be surprised him to do the same against us when we play him this season.

If Welker did burn the Pats this season that would add a little bite to this board. We'd be hearing from the naysayers then.

This is good news. I just hope Amendola can stay healthy this coming season.

Brady looks like a kid - doesn't he? Maybe he can play until he's 40!

Who's the short guy with the TT t-shirt? :D Just kidding...

And after further inspection of this photo I've decided I'm moving to LA and joining a certain tennis club. :rocker:

I don't understand how players such as Amendola can be labeled a "walking injury". I am not statistician but I'm pretty sure the probability of getting injured on any given play is independent of the players past history of injuries. When we say a person is prone to getting injured are we saying so out of complete superstition.

What are the factors that makes someone injury prone. Does anyone know any stats correlating football injuries to position, body size, history of injuries? If so do you care to share, I am curious. Do people think Amendola is injury prone merely because he takes a lot of hard hit or merely because he;s been injured in the past.

If what we call being injury prone is merely the inability to play through injury, it's hard to think anyone could play through the injuries that he;s sustained. Welker missed a whole season, Brady missed a whole season, does this make them injury prone?
