So, you're wandering along in the woods and you discover the fountain of youth! It will give long lasting life and restore someone to their most youthful figure. For some strange reason, you can only apply its affects 5 times total, and it has to be used on someone who is presently playing for the Patriots, or who has played for them at any point in the past.

Which 5 Patriots do you let use it, guaranteeing their presence on the Patriots Roster for all of eternity.

My choices:

1) Tom Brady
2) Andre Tippett
3) Ty Law
4) John Hannah
5) Richard Seymour/Vince Wilfork (Undecided)

I will answer the question later, but obviously this presumes that it will also provide the Patriots with the money to keep them signed. ;)

Interesting. Outside of the 5 of the OP I'd add Randy Moss.

Tom Brady
Andre Tippett
Ty Law
Randy Moss
Stanley Morgan.

I must be really bored replying to this fantasy thread.

Yea we'll just pretend that the salary cap is a non-factor in this hehe

Heh. First four I agree with completely - they were the first four guys that popped into my mind. But instead of Stanley Morgan I think I'd go with Mike Haynes.

I'd take my chances with a D that featured Tippett, Law, and Haynes, all forever in their prime. And then add an offense with Brady and Moss in their primes.

Ahh Belichick, good one i didnt even think about the coaches.. but they would still apply in this hypothetical.. I like it..

I guess I woudl drop Seymour/Wilfork from the 5th spot and give that to Belichick

"Among the perennially dominant Patriots are players who have played for decades with no apparent decline, generating rumors of performance enhancing drugs. Now that the smoking gun has been found in the form of a magical potion from the Black Forest, the five have been banned from the league... and we have 22 asterisk super bowls..."

I prefer this game if we limit it to players currently on the roster. And remember, the FOY is about cellular reconstruction, so it resolves all injuries as well as aging. You pull a hammy, you take a sip, and presto, the hammy reverts to a younger age.

For me:

  • Wilfork
  • Mankins
  • Brady
  • Dowlling
  • Talib

I'm sticking to my guns with Morgan. He could of done anything out of the wr position with Brady as his QB. Slot, intermmediate, sideline deep and over the middle. Blazing speed, great hands, clutch. You couldn't ask for anything more out of a Patriot.

Brady
Moss
Hannah
Haynes
Tippett

Triggerman
Receiver
Blocker
Pass defender
QB killer

Just for the record, the next three would be:

6.) Seymour
7.) Law
8.) Wilfork

Tom Brady
Randy Moss
Richard Seymour
Mike Haynes
Vince Wilfork/Rodney Harrison (undecided)

One of the most dynamic passing duo's in NFL history, a pair of the teams best and most disruptive linemen, and probably the best corner to ever play here.

Nice

It would also be nice to have a brand new:
Ted Washington
Curtis Martin

1. Tom Brady
2. Vince Wilfork
3. Rodney Harrison
4. Teddy Bruschi
5. Randy Moss

These 5 had the best season the NFL has ever seen, so why not give it another run!!!!

1.) Tom Brady
2.) Bill Belichick
3.) Randy Moss
4.) Richard Seymour
5.) Rodney Harrison

As much as I like Wilfork I think Harrison and Seymour were more impactful and irreplaceable players.

Twist on the answer:
I'd use it on Brady 5 times, starting in 2 years and then repeating every 15 years.

Assuming it had to be used all at once:
1. Brady
2. Law
3. Harrison
4. Moss
5. Seymour

1.) Tom Brady
2.) Bill Belichick
3.) Randy Moss
4.) Richard Seymour
5.) Rodney Harrison

As much as I like Wilfork I think Harrison and Seymour were more impactful and irreplaceable players.

Yea I love me some Wilfork but Seymour in his prime was insanely disruptive and played at a Hall of Fame level. How about a 4-3 with Tippett at LDE, with Wilfork and Seymour at the DT spots? wowzers..

So this basically takes the best year of any Patriots player ever and keeps them perpetually on the team at that level?

1. Brady
2. Moss
3. Tippett
4. Seymour
5. Hannah

Hannah is obviously one of the best ever but at the end of the day he is still a guard so he is lower down the list. Strongly considered Law replacing him.

Moss in 2007 was at a level no one in Patriots history has achieved, except for of course Brady.
