Amendola To Practice With Brady Out West

This is a great way to build rapport with your field general. Hopefully they gain that chemistry early that Brady and receivers need to be successful together. I certainly wouldn't want Amendola to end up as another Ochocinco-esque flame-out.

This is what Brady did with Welker. This is what Peyton Manning does with all his receivers.

this is nice....there's gotta be something "REAL BAD!!!!!!!" about this news...I'm too homeristic to figure out why....maybe one of our resident pessimists from the Pats Pantheon of Negativity can run down all the "REAL BAD!!!!!!" things about this.....please, enlighten the rest of us stupid peons who follow and root for the Pats why this is "REAL BAD NEWS!!!!!!"...must be a thousand reasons, right?

Lets hope this guy can catch better than the guy in the Easter Bunny suit they already brought in to practice with Brady... ;)

Once thing i like about him/this situation...he can go deeper than welker..is more of a deep threat mid field..says healthy and could help our down field game more than most think

Ok Joker, you asked for this Smart Guy!
DA misses his first session with TFB due to a chronic arthritis condition but gets there just in time for session #2. Getting dressed in the locker room he aggravates a flat foot condition while tying his cleats. Hobbling out to field he takes his first pass from TFB which immediately aggravates an acute preexisting hangnail condition. Now done for the day, he goes into shower only to slip on a banana peel and injure his bursa sac. Out indefinitely. Patriots should have known better!!

That is a great way to look at it! Look, WW was a great Patriot. It is too bad he is gone but he is gone. Now we have DA. He has shown enough prior to coming here to have some optimism that he will bring good things to the Patriots. There just is no point to looking down on DA and expecting an inevitable drop off from WW. Seriously, what's the point? We are Patriot fans who live and die (figuratively speaking) on their Sunday success or lack thereof. BB/Kraft's mistakes/faults not withstanding (real or imagined), why not look at the unknown for the 2013 season through the prism of optimism?? Me, I see DA as the potential next big pass catching machine for the Patriots/for the final few years of TFB. Since no one can say that is not going to be the case, why not be optimistic and let's see what we see this Fall?

you can't fool me with that flimsily disguised piece of tripe....YOU are a homer , masquerading as a discount store chicken little....what I want is the GENUINE full blown pessimist, the "KNOWER OF THINGS!!!!" fan who knows all and sees all and thinks he should be running things for Kraft...that person who has knocked every single move the Patriots have made this off season and castigated the Patriots for NOT making certain moves, HE, the "KNOWER OF THINGS", has declared as absolute truth proving the Patriots are "REAL BAD!!!!!!".

I know you're out there, Bobby Bawkley...start squawking...I just have to know the "REAL BAD!!!!!" things this report means for the Pats.

spending all this time out west hanging by the pool w/ TB and his wife's supermodel girlfriends is going to cut into DA's Foxboro house hunting time.

maybe he will have to get a place more than 5 m from the facility:eek:

anybody else actually watch the accompanying bayless-smith segment. while smith is still annoying-bad (and i usually avoid) and skip just annoying; i think they actually hit it pretty close.

DA is a TALENT upgrade with Durability & long term Sustained Production CONCERNS (unstated: who would also have to have a good bit of luck to come close to matching WW production for last 5 in coming 5).

In short, OVER A 16 GAME SEASON -you would probably rather have WW....but.....in ONE GAME (heck, say an afccg or SB) - you might be better off with DA.

Hey, it's Friday night past 2am. The bar is about to close its doors and you're running out of time/options. Sure, I was feeding you a line....but I think for tonight it's as good as you're gonna get!
And my Chicken Little act was way better than dime store Pal!!:D

Well the obvious answer is that what good does have a rapport do if you are on IR :D only half kidding though..

That's an interesting hypothetical.

WW was our pass catching machine. When the Patriots needed 6 yards, WW was there for 7 yards very consistently. It is hard to argue a guy, DA, who averages less receptions would be the better guy even for one game. I'm not saying that as a fact, just saying it isn't an easy point to argue. And the "talent upgrade" suggestion means very little. Production is what counts.

With that said, given DA showed very solid numbers in the last two seasons he actually played (or mostly played), and given he is coming to a team that is likely much more conducive to catching passes, and given he is approaching his prime, let's see what he does here. He may show he is not only the guy you would want in that AFCCG, he may show he is more than that. I am optimistic of that possibility.

We can compare Danny Amendola to Wes Welker for an eternity, but why bother? Welker's not here anymore. It doesn't matter that Amendola would have to double his productivity just to equal Welker's stats. All that matters is Amendola goes out there and does the absolute best he can for this team on that field and stays healthy.

I'm done stressin over Welker bein gone. I'm lookin forward. And I choose to support Danny Amendola. Let's go, 2013 season.

I don't believe a single word of this report that DA is going out west to work with Brady. WHY? Because we were told by our overlords in the media that Brady was UNBELIEVABLY pissed at both Kraft and the Pats for no bringing back Welker. He'd never do anything as disloyal to his best bud, as work out with his replacement. This CAN'T be true.

They told me all this on the internet, and as we all know, you can't lie on the internet. ;)

Yes, I know I'm taking a tongue-in-cheek quote and answering seriously, but hey, this is the internet.

The media overlords make Brady seem like this over-emotional basket case who can't work hard if he's pissed off. Hell, I'm frequently pissed off at the management where I work. Doesn't stop me from doing my job, and I get paid a whole lot less, and the evidence of any lassitude isn't examined in fine detail by 100 million guys with nothing else to do.

Brady was never going to sulk. He's no Randy Moss.
