I've been of the opinion for a while that the Pats are trading down and out of the first with the flat level of talent. Of the players with the potential to fall to 29 who would be compelling enough to stay there and make a pick? Guys like Jordan, Ansah, Cooper.......who at one point looked possible obviously aren't going to happen.
For me there are two.
Datone Jones
Jonathan Hankins
I think Jones and Hankins are gone but there is some chance they slide.
I could make an additional case for Hopkins or Allen but there's a bunch of receivers in the second like Patton, Wheaton and Williams and I don't think I'd gamble a first on having chemistry with Brady. Trade down into the second and pick up a 3rd and have Hopkins and Slay or McFadden or just have Allen or Hopkins. BB would have to be totally sold on one of them and short of sending them to Costa Rica to train with Brady for a week I don't see how he could be.
