Dolphins new logo

seems like the dolphins are doing exactly what another miami sports franchise did... spend a ton in FA, new logo and try to get tax payers to pay for their stadium and look how that turned out for the marlins

That logo is a euphemism.

...........Sucks

It's much better than their old one with a helmet on the dolphin's head. That one really sucks!

You do realize that the dolphin is swimming through the sun, and doesn't have a mouth, right?

The last one was doing the same thing, but, had a ridiculous helmet on.

This one is much better than their old one.

Having the name "Dolphins" is where they all went wrong.

Was this logo change approved by His Lord Don Shula?

Not saying anything about football, but dolphins are supposedly bad asses. They are the good guys who beat up sharks. The name is OK. Not great, but understandable.

Not like naming your team after a bird that does not exist (Seahawks) or not a predator (Cardinals - seeds fear us!)

Just a new logo to tarnish with years of suckage.

In all seriousness, I liked the old logo. I don't like it when teams 'rebrand'. I was actually disappointed when the G-Men elected not to wear their old GIANTS helmets as part of their throwback year in 2013.

Actually the logo they have now is the throwback. Not sure if you're saying the same thing.

Yeah, I was confused by that too. The Giants originally had the ny on their helmet, then changed to the whole word Giants, then reverted back to the classic plain ny initials.
Then you have the changes to the middle red stripe being bordered by white during the years they spelled out Giants on the helmet.
Ya wanna see a weird Giants helmet, check out the 1975 version, when they spelled out ny in a futuristic font. It's so short lived, barely anyone even knows of its existence in G Men history.
Then there's the whole Yale Bowl dealio during the 1973 & 1974 seasons. Giants actually played their home games in New England while Yankee Stadium was being renovated and Giants staduim was being built.
There's pictures from a Pats-Giants regular season game from 1974 from Yale Bowl.

So... yeah. There ya go. There's yer Giants overkill from a football uniforms & stadiums history nut.

btw, new Dolphins logo is generic. Shoulda stuck with the classic. I mean, anyone over 40 remembers when The Pats were perennially stuck behind them in the division. They WERE a marquee franchise after all.

...........Sucks

Dolphins, being the very intelligent sea mammals that they are, had hired an attorney to sue the Miami football club over the cartoonish representation of their species (see Cleveland Indians' Chief Wahoo). The new logo is the result.

My biggest issue is the colors. Teal and baby crap brown...yuck!

that thing looks like the logo on a can of Starkist..."Dolphin Free!"...when I think of a Dolphin logo these days I think of something like this...

dolphin_slaughter_taiji_japan_the_cove_brooke_mcdonald_19.jpg

I think I mentioned it before but if we really want to be accurate, it should be lying on it's back, defeated.

actually, they should photoshop the face of Done Noringo on a floppin' dolphin's body and use THAT as a logo...after all, that WAS the last time they enjoyed any success

Yeah, there are a lot of stupid monikers for sports. Very true.
