With two of the top three FA brought back what will they do next? IMO Lloyd is first then Abraham. Edelman will not be here next year.

i dont think Lloyd. Edelman, abraham or sanders will be on this team but i also dont see the pats doing notting i think they will add a few more low cost JAG's and vets befor the draft

We are never the first to make the move when multiple similar FA's are available. Freeney or Umenyiora will sign, maybe both, followed by Abraham to us. We don't set the market, we play it out.

Edelman will return, I'm of the camp that believes his injury has kept him free this long, and I also don't think he's fully healed, which is why we haven't signed him yet either. I believe he'll be back.

Lloyd I have less faith in returning.

Sanders will remain unresolved for as long as possible as there is absolutely no pressure to do anything and the longer we wait the less we have to give him up front, assuming Pitt also isn't done, as they don't seem to be.

In order I believe our next moves will be:

Abraham post-Freeney/Osi signing
Sanders pre-draft
Edelman post-draft

It's pretty tough to predict anything else as there will be dozens more transactions of no names leading up to and continuing through OTAs and TC.

No other team is paying big bucks for Julian Edelman so he'll likely be back .

The team is aware that despite his talent, that Amendola is a risk with injury and they will need a backup in the slot even with Hernandez, they won't be looking for a slot WR in the draft but more of a down the field threat and its very unlikely they draft TWO WRs,so I don't see them letting Edelman slip away.

As of right now, pass rush is still an issue, they will try to take care of that problem in the draft as well instead of FA....Freeney is going to the Broncos or Steelers and Abraham may be wanting too much IMO.

Other than signing a couple of old washed up JAGs scraping the bottom of the FA market at vet minimum (guys like Quentin Jammer might be worth a look),this team otherwise is done in FA IMO.

1, In the immediate future, I see Edelman getting resigned. However I'm starting to wonder if the fact he hasn't received much notice this FA period, is because his foot hasn't completely healed?

2. The next big thing will likely be Sanders, but that won't happen until just before the 4/19 deadline. The strategy being wait until the Steelers add a couple more players, which will make matching even a moderate contract impossible.

3. If Sander doesn't happen then you resign Lloyd and draft a WR high.

4. Sign Martin.

The Pats have roughly 63 guys signed. They have 5 draft picks and are likely to add 4 UDFA's That leaves about 8 more Vet FA's to be added before we hit camp in July.

I think Abraham is the next shoe to drop. Dumervil to Balt. I'm guessing Freeney to Denver and Abraham to the Pats. They'll assess how much is left and address wr after that.

CAn't say I have absolute faith that this is the next move, but I want it to happen so I'll pick it.

i thinkk thay sign fitzjerild and traed 3 1sts to da cardinals 4 him

But, if I can be serious for a minute, hopefully a pass rusher (Abraham) or a WR (Sanders) before the draft.

They're trading 4 first round picks for Suh!

So who are your opening day WRs, Edelman and Amendola? If Edelman is the backup as you are saying is the new draftee going to start right away?

I bet they don't do anything else until the draft. Ho hum.

Ken- Do you really think Pats sign 8 more vet FA's? Seems a bit high to me. UDFA's seem more likely IMHO.

IMO they will add additional draft picks and sign more UDFA this year. That my own speculation however.

I think we'll be quiet until the draft. After the draft we'll hit the scrapheap.

AFAIK, the roster limit is now 90 instead of 80.

Yes,I think so

Thats why I am expecting the Pats to go for an early WR in the draft .....hopefully will end their second round WR draft failures.

I think we get Freeney and then Sanders...

Next signing is Billy Bajema, tight end. You can never have enough tight ends, and never enough 2011 St. Louis Rams. You heard this from Erika Leigh first.
