Rather, the obvious answer is "that's a really stupid question, I'm not going to answer that one."

I would've told the radio guy, "Yours."

This was VERY cool for Vince to post, both classy and kickass at the same time.

BTW- its only a matter of time before we get the TJ "letter of apology"/"Taken out of context" reply. "His people" are probably typing it up as we post.

Agree on both accounts.

Re: Ted's imminent apology, I agree it's coming, and I'm sure we also agree there's nothing you can do to take back something like that. You can't insult someone's wife and the mother of their children that way. If there was any question what kind of person Ted Johnson is, it was answered by the fact that he responded to such a juvenile question.

I'd say this is the best answer. I mean really, a discussion about players' wives and who's ugliest?

Wow wtf, Ted's a douche and so is the guy who asked him. Ted shoulda smacked the guy when he asked him.

I hope to god he doesn't use the whole concussion brain damage thing. Because there are plenty of former NFL players and non sports stars with brain disorders who wouldn't answer that question at all.

I wouldn't say Vince's wife is ugly, but she definitely could stand to lose a couple of pounds (couldn't we all). She looks like she's been in a couple of eating contests against Vince (of course Vince won).

I guess I'm getting old, as I'm surprised by the ignorance of Johnson's condition here.

He was one of the first in this era to publicly expose the living hell and incredible disability he's had due to brain trauma from playing. He's had incredible pain, loss of memory, relationship issues, and general inability to lead a productive life. He was on suicide watch for quite a while (and may still be).

There's no way for any of us to know for sure how much of that led to this blurt on his part, but we do know two things:
  1. he's brain damaged
  2. this is inconsistent with the way he acted before he was brain damaged

I don't think anyone's ignorant of his condition. It's more like we think it's not the cause of him saying something eminently douchey. And no here knows what he was like "before he was brain damaged." We only knew he played football for our team.

You should tell him that.

Between a few posts in this thread, and the ones yesterday from the people who think it's awesome that a grown woman molested a 12-year-old boy, I've never been prouder to be a Pats fan.

@TedJ52
I just made a huge error in judgement and want to apologize to Vince and his wife for comments I made earlier today on a Houston radio show

No ones is being ignorant. But he has to be of somewhat of sound mind to be on Sports Radio talk show every week.

What I find amazing is that a lot of people not just NFL players have the same symptoms and brain damage but no one ever excuses their actions because of it. Why should NFL players get treated differently

That could be you

Even a Belichick gag order isn't going to silence Vince on this one (rightfully so). I wonder if TJ will come north with the Texans this year.

I'm sorry, but there's no way to blame this deranged comment on his cognitive abilities. This was a reflection of character, not intellect or cognition.

He's competent enough to be a Sports Radio host and commentator on TV, he should be able to avoid saying one of the more mean-spirited things I've heard on the airwaves. I feel sorry for the degenerative condition he has, but if people with his current level of cognition are not held responsible for what they say and do, then god help us if we apply that to the rest of the world, and particularly the elderly.

He's so full of it, by the way. I just listened to the clip, and he considered that question for 35 seconds before he answered it, and he was pretty proud of himself. I also enjoyed the radio guy saying she looks like a guy. Vince's dance card is going to be full.

I just Tweeted Vince that I ******* love him.
