Is this a case of a mediot trying to make something out of nothing to fill dead air or is it a case of "Where there's smoke there's fire" and the Patriots really are ticked off at Gronkowski? What do you all think. Personally, I lean to the latter, but have no way of substantiating that view.

PS: Love the flip flops, Coach. I'd love to see you wear them on the sidelines with an approved NFL logo just to drive Goodell nuts.

I agree with your view. I'm reading that "He's not really happy about the rehab focus" from those answers

The vernacular, does not lend itself to facial expressions and tone...

Hard to tell, SMZ is less hysterical than most..

How about the glowing review of Cannon?

It wouldn't surprise me if the team has had words with Gronk about his offseason habits, but BB's statements sound pretty familiar. He rarely talks about health issues at all, let alone ones he hasn't personally monitored yet. We'll see.

I'd like to see the video of this. SMZ's interpretation of Hoodie's responses with *long pause* inserted certainly leaves you thinking he is not happy. I'd rather see the video on this one and read BB's poker face myself.

Not to hijack the thread, but it is offseason, I bet Bill's a helluva poker player.

We shall see how Gronkowski's rehab is faring after April 15.

I am very pleased to read about Belichick's comments regarding Cannon and Mallett. Cannon in particular, since he would seem to be the top option at RT should Vollmer bolt in FA.

I wouldn't read into it at all. Some guy puts *pause* in a transcript and everyone thinks BB hates Gronks private/not private at all life.

Makes no sense at all.

Just quit while you're ahead and end the question right there (with your own answer).

Stop trying to translate BB's frustration with the QUESTIONER into frustration at the object of the question.

Everybody knows BB WILL NEVER GIVE YOU A MED EVALUATION and will not talk about NON-FOOTBALL ACTIVITIES. So WHY ARE YOU ASKING THESE QUESTIONS in the first place?....
A: So you can generate this <<long pause>> article and earn a paycheck.

When I read the transcript quotes on another site; it didnt strike me as any frustration with Gronk but completely WITH THE MEDIA.

He said essentially that he hasnt even SEEN OR WILL SEE THE PLAYERS UNTIL 15 APR and he will know more then. Why is it so hard for folks to actually just take BB at face-value when he says that and previously has said he leaves the med evaluations to the medical folks.

He just got through the opening salvos of FA (one week of last minute deal considerations for our own & one week of other folks FAs); do you really think he has time to go around keeping track of the 50+ guys currently under contract in their off-season whereever they may be around the USA and the GLOBE. He is good; but cut him some slack. he is NOT omnipotent nor a micro-manager (except when he thinks he needs to be).

I understand why the OP could come up with this idea, so I'm not bashing you, but to me this whole thread is exactly why BB just doesn't give out anything in his interviews. No matter what he says (or doesn't say), someone will spin it into a controversy.

S*** stirring media. How anybody can extrapolate more than 'What an ignorant question' out of this is beyond me.

Agreed, I doubt BB is happy with him wrestling with a broken arm but this is the typical BB response.

So where is the part where BB talk about Gronk again?

Exactly,he shows annoyance from a question the media knew he would not answer and then endless hand wringing from the worst media in sports.

Lets look at the facts here. We have a kid that has come in and worked hard to become the best blocking TE in the league, among the top 5 receiving TE's, and the most productive TD catching receiver of ANY type in the NFL. He's worked hard both in season and off. He's done some wonderful things in the community. He's said all the right things from day one.

......AND he likes to have a good time. He isn't taking drugs. He isn't getting DUI's. He isn't assaulting anyone. In fact aside from being occasionally overly rambunctious this kid's been damned near perfect in all areas of his 3 year pro career. Yet the mediots seemingly are hell bent to try and create an image that he's somehow a "bad boy" akin the likes of Pac Man Jones, Des Bryant, and Lawrence Taylor.

Gumby hit it on the head. Don't confuse BB's frustration with the questions, with a possible frustration with Gronk. He knows what they are trying to do, and I'm sure by now he's getting sick of it. To make it worse, now the mediots are using that frustration to once again fit their agenda. Believe me there isn't a team or coach in this league who wouldn't want to be saddled with 53 "problem children" like Rob Gronkowski.

Is it September already?

How about the glowing review of Cannon?

he could be saying that to put a little pressure on Vollmer or he could really mean it, with BB you never know and thats the way he likes it.

BB appreciates having gronk around. It's not every day you can have someone distract everyone so easily

So the Patriots' leverage with Sebastien Vollmer depends on whether or not Marcus Cannon can handle a starting role... and BB praises Cannon.

The Patriots are trying to trade Ryan Mallett for some desperately-needed draft picks... and BB praises Mallett.

Great!

Now NFL GMs will read this and see thru BB's disinformation campaign.
