Just check out the Twitter feed above right now; I'm sure Mike Reiss and Mike Florio among others will have plenty to say about it.

The most interesting thing is that apparently he's suggesting that Welkah may not be in Denvah for two years. . . .

Kraft is just killing Wes's agent right now

Tom E. Curran ‏@tomecurran
We usually don't talk about contracts. I'd like to clear up misconceptions about negotiations. Everyone in our org wanted Wes back.

Karen Guregian ‏@kguregian
Kraft said Welker's agents "misrepresented" his market value

Karen Guregian ‏@kguregian
Kraft said Pats last offer had incentives that would have made deal better than Denver's deal.

Tom E. Curran ‏@tomecurran
Wes Welker was our first choice to be with the team. Our second alternative was Danny amendola

Karen Guregian ‏@kguregian
Kraft said the Welker camps contention there was no deal offered is "bogus"

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet
Kraft said the offer to Welker they made would've paid him $8M in the first year. Insinuates Wes may be cut after first year in Denver

Karen Guregian ‏@kguregian
Kraft called it a "miscalculation of value" in playing poker by Welker's reps

And much more as he is speaking now. David Dunn is the agent of Reed FYI

Re: Kraft is just killing Wes's agent right now

Ouch. Good for Kraft - I like this side of him.

Even if I'm ultimately disappointed in how everything transpired, and am sure he's spinning facts his way a little, too, I love seeing him come out strong and defend himself, the team and the organization.

I only wish he had done it back when Spygate broke.

There seems to be some insightful and juicy stuff there. But I would perfer if they just shut up about this like everything else they do.

Also noted in the tweets is that Welker's agent is David Dunn - and Dunn was recently hired by Ed Reed. Reporters are putting the two together and conjecturing that means that the chances of reed coming to New England are now very slim.

Reed may or may not come to Foxboro, but Reed doesn't come across as the type of person that is so pliable that another person would be able to tell him where he could or could not play. The agent works for the player, not the other way around.

By that logic Jake Bequette, Alfonzo Dennard, Zoltan Mesko and Shane Vereen are all going to hold out and demand a trade, and the extension given to Aaron Hernandez never happened; after all, each of these players are also represented by Dunn and Athletes First.

What about the reports that Amendola's deal was done last Tuesday before all of this?

This backs up what Kraft is saying:

Wes had all off season to accept the offer. He didn't b/c he overestimated his value... severely.

If NE couldn't sign him in the offseason; why would they wait through-out free agency (losing other FAs, like Amendola, while waiting)?

I would think the Ed Reed ship sailed when we signed Wilson. Not that they are the exact same but both are Safeties.

But to further run with your point I also beleive Reed represented himself in the past and was sort of forced to grab one last minute or sit out the legal tampering window as he being a player was not allowed to contact teams. So Dunn is his agent but he is sort of a rent-a-agent.

which was after welker decided not to accept teh pats first offer 2/10 incentives to make it 2/16.

the timeline

Pats offer welker a deal that has the potential to be 2/16 he declines

The pats offer Amendola the 5 year deal he accepts

The titans offer wes 2/15 he declines since they are not a contender

The broncos offer 2/12

Wes askes if the pats will match 2/12, they say no 2/10 potential for 2/16 is their only offer. he decides to sign with the broncos.

Wes walked away from the pats, not the other way around.

With regards to reed, i dont think the patriots are an option for him now after wilson signing.

The arrogance continues.
Why is Robert Kraft opining that Wes Welker might be cut after year 1 in Denver?? Why is Kraft commenting on Welker's deal with Denver??
Bob Kraft says he doesn't answer to Tom Brady???
Psssst, hey Bobby you ain't no model franchise without #12.
God I wish Tom Brady had Gisele's balls and mouth. Someone needs to put Kraft in his place.
Gisele would in 1.2 seconds.

Kraft in full damage control mode.
Ya cheap bastid.

I agree. Krafts remarks were mildly insulting.

Ridiculous.

1. The Patriots would be/were a joke of a franchise without Kraft.

2. #12 would be an insurance salesman married to Walmart checkout girl without the the Pats picking him at 199.

well, not sure about the 2nd point but if hopethetically TFB walks away today, you will have to wonder how long until the bandwagon falls apart. He has no business commenting about other teams to begin with.

was he drunk as usual when he gave this interview ??

So far after two pages have not seen the actual "twitter" and all that ensues is a bunch of hearsay, and the ever present commentary on how Kraft is cheap..

The actual comments by Kraft would be mighty helpful...

I guarantee there will be a better plan in place for replacing Brady than there will be for almost every other team in the NFL having to replace a franchise QB.

At least he doesn't drunkenly tweetface cryptic and excitable trade rumours like Irsay :)

Great points. After all, it's not like the Patriots ever made the Super Bowl with another QB while Bob Kraft owned the team. Oh, wait.

It's not like the Patriots' only had winning seasons when Bill Belichick was around during the Bob Kraft era. Oh, wait... just as many losing seasons under the prior two coaches that Kraft had as they've had under Belichick?

I question if many of the posters here were even born before Kraft bought the team. Surely Kraft and Belichick have made mistakes, but you listen to these people, and you'd think that we're the Arizona Cardinals.

Haven't seen such angry words from Kraft since he was punching a guy in an audition tape.

So what you're saying in Dunn isn't the incompetent dummy the Patriots are trying to spin?? Oooops!!! :D I agree!!!
(oh and by the way - yes - agents who have issues with a certain organization over 1 player quite often have issues when it comes to other players going forward)

Kraft in full damage control mode.

You should seriously stop posting because you sound dumber with each letter you type.

Kraft the cheap bastard that kept the Pats in NE when no one would step up and buy the team to keep them in NE. The cheap bastard that gave Drew Bledsoe the largest contract in NFL history at that point, the first 100 mil deal. The same cheap bastard that paid the full rookie contract of his former 1st round draft pick that blew out his knee in a stupid rookie flag football game played on the beach in sand? Is that the cheap bastard you are talking about?

I wonder if Seymour, Logan and Vince think he is a cheap bastard?
