Doubtful, as someone said on Twitter earlier, letting a top-5 pick walk after only his first contract is a rather large failure. Especially when that pick is a 4 time pro-bowler in nearly as many years.

It may not have improved on paper yet. But RB and T are 2 positions that it is fairly easy for a rookie to come in a make major contributions at lower cap hits.

I've never heard anyone say that about LT. Very difficult for a rookie to break in there. Agree about rb. They have Miller and Thomas. But, doesn't Thomas have fumbling issues??

He is still better than what they have and what is available on the free agent market. They did spend a lot of money on a deep threat in Wallace and right now do not have anyone to protect Tannehill's blindside to have time to get it to him.

Yes, Long is probably just an above average LT right now and has injury concerns, but there really isn't anyone who is that good left on the market at least at LT.

Tackles can take a while to adjust. Defensive linemen in the NFL are bigger, stronger, and faster than many of the d-linemen they face in college. A lot of tackles take a year or two to adjust.

Considering what the top OL have been getting in free agency in recent years this is great news for the Patriots because it sets a really low bar for Vollmer. If he gets 60 million it is a completely different market. The Patriots should be able to get Vollmer in for 4/24 with injury protection if they really want to get this done.

Adalius was very good when he was both a) healthy, and b) cared.

Unfortunately, he rarely met both criteria at the same time. I'm still convinced that Dont'a Hightower was drafted to be all of the things that Adalius would have been if he hadn't been such an a-hole.
