a 3 year deal for a 34 year old player? Yikes... Hes 34 years old, so I don't really expect him to be playing at a Pro Bowl level or anything.. still nice to get some veteran depth in our secondary though

Without knowing the structure of the deal, it can be hard to make a judgement on it. It may be a 3 year deal but in essence it is a 1-2 year deal which makes him easy to cut thereafter.

I'm pretty sure that it's a one year at a time deal. If he plays well in 2013 and the team thinks he can still play at a decent level in 2014, they will keep him.

One thing is for sure, this guy has had a helluva career. Numbers-wise, very similar to Rodney's.

This is a fantastic signing! He adds swagger to the defense, he certainly lays the wood. He can also play coverage LB in the nickel or dime sets. Adds lots of flexibility, big nickel anybody?

He's a good player. I like this signing a lot. The veteran leadership is a good thing. The younglings in the secondary need some guidance back there.

The wilsons are completely different players. One is an intimidator hybrid saftey/lb and the other is more a hybrid safety/cb

I think it has little to do with what the team thinks of Tavon, though I think he's got one heck of a role model to learn from now. Love this move.

The difference is Rodney was 31 when we got him, and Wilson will be 34 at the beginning of the season. I see this ending up a lot closer to the Victor Green experiment than the Rodney success.

This offseason is not starting off well at all. We don't have an even avg starting corner (Dennard can't count right now) on the roster. We sign a soon to be 34 yr old safety as an "impact" secondary player. The most productive WR on our roster is Brandon Lloyd, and we replace Welker with a china doll. And the saddest part of all is a Bills' castaway and the Steelers's 3rd WR is considered an upgrade to our receiving core.

I thought Tavon played some LB (or at least in the box) at illinois.
