Pioli just indicated that Josh may prefer Amendola (presuming that he doesn't re-sign). I suspect that the team has talked to him over the past few days.

That's crap we dropped the ball Denver picked it up. Amendola production under JM = 1 game, 5 receptions and 48 yards if he prefers that over Welker never mind being fired by Kraft he should be executed by a firing squad.

There were a few teams interested in Danny Amendola: Patriots and Broncos were among them. Now, Broncos are set. So...

You're right.

Amendola
Jennings/Cruz/Fitzy
WR draft pick

4/24

But with a LOT of play time related bonuses because of his injury history.

When it comes to player personnel opinions, Josh should be way down on the list of people the Pats braintrust should listen too.

I hope Amendola doesn't sign here. If they weren't willing to spend for quality in Welker, I hope that means they're shifting offensive philosophy away from his type of position almost entirely.

lol lets be honest here. josh prefers ****, he prefers who they give him.
I hope they sign amendola because i like him a lot, only issue is injurys but we may get lucky.

amendola is not nearly enough tough, especially with his injury issues.

in general, it's a bear market for slot WR's this year......

also, this is what pioli said of welker:

“This is so complex,” said Pioli on the NFL Network. “There are so many different stories going on here. David Dunn, the agent for Wes Welker, has picked a team and a situation [in the Denver Broncos] that can certainly tweak the Patriots. This is very intentional; whether it’s true or whether it’s not true, it’s is very intentional and that’s what agents unfortunately do.

I think the pats wanted to lower the cost of their slot guy so that they could spend more on an outside guy......and that they are trying to go away from having a slot guy be their promary target and that wasn't going to happen as long as welker was here.

I believe that if they wanted welker to be here, that he would be here

Well said.

Oh ya? How's Decker & Thomas working out for Denver right now

Yup. They offered him a home town discount contract that he probably wouldn't sign. Then, they sign Amendola and look for another wide receiver.

$6m for Welker is peanuts.

There is no outside guy to give that money to. He doesn't exist. Chad Ochocinco was here, and he got almost Welker money.

The Welker contract is only 2 years so it's not like it would have precluded them from signing an outside guy.

If Amendola comes here, what are the chances that his contract will be close to what we could have kept Welker for?

I mean, if Amendola's contract is even half of what Welker gets then I'm going to struggle with understanding that move.

If this is true, why didnt they do it last year instead of giving him an inflated 1 year contract?
