Do these teams ever learn? $30M guaranteed for Mike Wallace - are you kidding? $7M/yr for Ellerbe? An undrafted LB with one, yes, ONE meaningful season. On top of this they whack one of their most dependable, good solider types in Carlos Dansby to make room for Ellerbe. Incredible.

I hope they continue to pour it on, they already have lost control why stop now!

they are panicking with all the $$ they have. Happens to poorly run organizations

I can't say I disagree with your opinion but I'm taking a wait and see approach with them. They should be better next year but that's dependent on Tannehill getting better, of course.

Wallace means nothing if the Dolphins plan on Jonathan "bullrushed by a CB" Martin protecting Tannehill's blind side. There will never be any time for Wallace to get open.

Also, adding two 6'1" LBs is not how you cover Gronk.

Normally I agree, like with the frustrating Marshall. Well that was a trade, but same idea.

But they still have a good amount of cap room, and 9 draft picks with 5 in the first 3 rounds. Which is why the draft is much more important than any of this. As long as they keep those picks, I don't mind.

It really all depends on Tannehill anyway. Adding Wallace to Hartline and Bess will be worth it if he develops into what they expect. If Tannehill doesn't, then it won't help us all that much. But they needed to make changes after 7-9, 7-9, 6-10, 7-9. It's a wait and see situation...much of it depending on Tannehill, Coaching and Great Draft positioning which they have to use well. I expect heavy drafting in the Secondary, which needs help.

And on the plus side if it ends up a failure that sends Ireland away. Win-Win.

Drew Bledsoe Jr. is still their Quarterback.

surprised they didn't sign chung for 4 year 36 mill

I think this might have a lot to do with the Dolphins trying to get public money for the stadium overhaul. Jeffrey Ross might think that if they have a bunch of shiny new pieces and give the fans hope this team might be playoff or Super Bowl bound, they might be more willing to vote for new taxes to pay for the stadium.

until fans see their final record next season and aren't in the playoffs

It isn't about how good they are and how far they go, but how the fans perceive how good they are or how far they go. The votes on public funding will likely be done before the playoffs come around.

But do the fans really like these moves? If we signed those players for those contracts we would be here bashing the pat becasue those contracts are stupid for those players

I'm generally happy to tow the line of prudence. I look at the way I spend my income and then translate it to the manner in which the Patriots conduct their business. There may be an impulse buy here or there but for the most part, you categorise items, allocate a budget and then move money around according to availability and price. In terms of total team economics, I can appreciate the Patriots cap management not only for today, but also for tomorrow.

The contracts most Free Agents receive simply aren't worth the production.

First, we are talking about Stephen Ross. He is the same guy who thought giving people like J.Lo minority ownership in the team would increase fan interest in the team. He isn't the sharpest bulb in the tree.

Second, Pats fans and Dolphins fans are very different. Miami is the place of the Dream Team in basketball. They like shiny toys. And Pats fans have seen there team win Super Bowls with a bunch of unheralded over achievers. I think we approach free agency different than fans of other teams. Most teams' fans are excited when their team takes the Daniel Snyder approach because their team is different and they overspent for the right player unlike other teams that overspent for the wrong players.

Also, I think you would be surprised how many Pats fans would be doing cartwheels tonight if they made the moves the Dolphins made today.

I say we still beat em even with Ebert, Slater, and Kamar Aiken at WR.

Good ... the Jets trolls will be on the Miami boards for a while.

there should be a question mark after the thread title. they have lost there starting rb and te.

At least they did something instead of leading to sign a washed up kick returner lmao, this team has a ton of flaws that Brady hides. Going to go for the bargain bin as always tomorrow and beyond.

You realise the team has the options of Free Agency, the Draft, UDFA and trades to improve the team right? There's no need to stand on a ledge less than a day into one of those options.

Not on the ledge I know that they do this every year and have the same holes at the end of the day (Pass rush, cb, wr)
