re: RFA WR Danario Alexander!!

I would rather get a for sure free agent...even though BB would have to pay extra.

Danario Alexander!!

Lightning Bolts hit'm with the Lowest Tender???

OK...What's the punch line???
huh.gif

And before anyone says "His knees.", yes, I know all about the 5 Operations on'is Left Knee.

But the former UFA ~ who the Bolts picked up for nothing last October ~ had an absolutely monstrous second half, coming out'f the clear blue sky, and played like he wasn't feeling any lingering affects at all.

Mind you...

~ If he is as healthy as he says he is, then it's hard to imagine his Price staying low.

~ If he is as healthy as he says he is, then it's hard to imagine the Bolts declining to match.

But it's sure's Hell worth a go, eh?? :D

1 ~ 6.5/216 Pound BEAST.

2 ~ Tremendous Work Ethic.

3 ~ Strong, willing Blocker.

4 ~ Brilliant: Walked in off the street and in 2 weeks was DOMINANT.

5 ~ Terrorized Defenses when he finally got healthy: 37/658/7 in half a Season!!

If this guy's truly healthy, and if the bewildering lack of interest on the part of the Bolts ~ combined with his extensive surgical history, which may well be what's causing that lack of interest, as opposed to anything current but currently unknown to the public ~ scares off or at least dampens the enthusiasm of other teams, then we could just possibly be in a position to land a flat out SuperStar just before his career takes off...and do so for pennies on the Dollar!! :rocker:

Just a notion.

I have no expectation of Coach Bill making any such Move.

But if the Price is right, and he checks out healthwise, I would pounce on this kid.

Wonder why JM didn't push to get him here last year? Lloyd, Hoom and Salas but this guy sat on the UFA list. That's a question mark for me, that and why didn't they tender him higher in SD.

re: RFA WR Danario Alexander!!

There is no such thing as a sure fire free agent.

I would rather get a for sure free agent...even though BB would have to pay extra.

Danario Alexander!!

Rams trainers said that his knee would never be 100%, with some degeneration already apparent and that everything he was doing was to just keep the knee the way it was.

If the Pats think he can hold up for a few seasons why not?

re: RFA WR Danario Alexander!!

I think Alexander is one of the best kind of FA's you can get. Similar to Greg Toler and Desmond Bryant, they haven't peaked yet. So that means they come at a cheaper price, and have the potential to well-outperform their contract.

re: RFA WR Danario Alexander!!

He's the hot girlfriend your ugly friend dumped and you cant figure out why until one day it starts to burn when you pee.

If it is February 3, 2014 after waking up in a Jersey hotel with a smile on our face…any Pats fan should "tap" that opportunity.

I was just thinking of the other term for a wide receiver who is outperforming his contract….oh, yes…I believe the term is "hold out."

re: RFA WR Danario Alexander!!

Let me see if I've got this right....

People are screaming about signing Welker because he might get hurt, or decline, and not live up to his deal. However, it's perfectly fine to get into a contract writing contest with the Chargers over a player who's knee has been cut into more often than a 3 pound steak?

Nobody said the Patriots should approach him with an open checkbook...

That's why they invented condoms. :D

And from a contract perspective I'm sure you could 'condomize' a contract somewhat to protect against injury, whilst perhaps offering longer term than the Chargers would want to match.

re: RFA WR Danario Alexander!!

The same people calling for him to be signed now will be screaming about how stupid the signing was if/when he goes down with yet another injury.

There's something excessively twisted, craven, desperate, and disturbing about your being so obsessed with contentious, rancorous arguing that you're not only fabricating imaginary Arguments that imaginary people might make some day, but describing these imaginary people of your febrile imagination as "screaming."

But, hey: Good Luck with that. ;)

No one is saying throw big money at the guy. I think you lost me when you started comparing Wes Welkers health to Alexander's health. Evidently there is a huge difference and a a risk involved with Alexander but I think the point of this thread was trying to get an under the radar talent for a low cost who could produce with the best of them provided he stays healthy. I don't think anyone here cried out "lets give him 8 million a year." If they were interested, I'd expect them to get a physical, put a number on his perceived value and make an offer. Nothing more. San Diego then chooses to match or not. This has nothing to do with Welker.

Couldn't've put it better.

Thanks, Bro.

:confused2:

It's pretty obvious why I went there, and I find the comparison to be solidly on point, so I don't know what to tell you. I guess it's pretty much just "Have a nice day".

Re: RFA WR Danario Alexander!!

The draft is even less likely to get immediate help in the secondary or at wide receiver. The BEST bet is to re-sign our own.

Go with the draft then. It's more affordable.

Re: RFA WR Danario Alexander!!

I still gotta say it....this guy's knees are being held together with bubble gum, band aids, and crazy glue......he's a great talent if he were able to stay healthy but just not worth the risk

Re: RFA WR Danario Alexander!!

He was a monster on my fantasy team last season. The second coming of Calvin Johnson, practically.

Hmmm. I wonder who plays more games next season... him or Gronk?

So what's your problem? ;)
