Lightning Bolts hit'm with the Lowest Tender???

OK...What's the punch line???
huh.gif

And before anyone says "His knees.", yes, I know all about the 5 Operations on'is Left Knee.

But the former UFA ~ who the Bolts picked up for nothing last October ~ had an absolutely monstrous second half, coming out'f the clear blue sky, and played like he wasn't feeling any lingering affects at all.

Mind you...

~ If he is as healthy as he says he is, then it's hard to imagine his Price staying low.

~ If he is as healthy as he says he is, then it's hard to imagine the Bolts declining to match.

But it's sure's Hell worth a go, eh?? :D

1 ~ 6.5/216 Pound BEAST.

2 ~ Tremendous Work Ethic.

3 ~ Strong, willing Blocker.

4 ~ Brilliant: Walked in off the street and in 2 weeks was DOMINANT.

5 ~ Terrorized Defenses when he finally got healthy: 37/658/7 in half a Season!!

If this guy's truly healthy, and if the bewildering lack of interest on the part of the Bolts ~ combined with his extensive surgical history, which may well be what's causing that lack of interest, as opposed to anything current but currently unknown to the public ~ scares off or at least dampens the enthusiasm of other teams, then we could just possibly be in a position to land a flat out SuperStar just before his career takes off...and do so for pennies on the Dollar!! :rocker:

Just a notion.

I have no expectation of Coach Bill making any such Move.

But if the Price is right, and he checks out healthwise, I would pounce on this kid.

re: RFA WR Danario Alexander!!

....ahem...bartender?...I'll have two of whatever Mr. Grid is having.....

re: RFA WR Danario Alexander!!

So how much guaranteed money are you handing a guy that has never played more than 10 games in a season?

re: RFA WR Danario Alexander!!

RFA i think...not worth a 1st.

After multiple reports that he was getting the first round tender, he only got the "right of first refusal" tender.

And OTG is the one who just got the girlfriend ...

Get ready to feel a burning sensation, Grid. If you havent gotten one already, that is.

re: RFA WR Danario Alexander!!

Pats need to make him an offer. We'll see.

re: RFA WR Danario Alexander!!

How high would you guys offer him? He has stud potential but limited to show for it. 5 mil a season?

Might be a good, cheap alternative for a deep/intermediate threat. It would be a nice insurance policy for a high WR draft pick I'd roll the dice with 5 million. He can't be worse than OchoStinko right?

re: RFA WR Danario Alexander!!

Only five operations on his left knee? I hear with the sixth, he gets a set of steak knives.

In all serious, I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on him if he came cheap, but his injury history makes him a huge risk on any type of decent deal.

I am a Burning Sensation, Baby!! :D

re: RFA WR Danario Alexander!!

ok was he in camp with the pats last year ? and if so why did they cut him was he injured ?

re: RFA WR Danario Alexander!!

The key is to give him a contract the Chargers don't want to match but gives us protection. I'm sure there are some smart people working for the Pats. If they are interested in a 6'5 WR who can snatch the ball, then maybe they'll make an offer. Who knows. :)

I'd try semi-high base salary, with escalators and low guaranteed money.

Yep. Hes on the WR Rack at the local consignment store. If hes still too expensive, Building 19 1/8 right down the street.

re: RFA WR Danario Alexander!!

28 games played out of a possible 48, and a knee that's had more work done on it than Joan Rivers entire body.

The same people calling for him to be signed now will be screaming about how stupid the signing was if/when he goes down with yet another injury.

Depends on what contract you sign him to. Unfortunately a sensible, games played incentive contract would likely be matched by SD who may simply be giving the kid a reality calibration at the slight risk that one of 31 other GMs will just give away the store.

Besides, Glass IR Dowling needs a companion in rehab.
