Back in the day our offense was average at best and our defense was what won us the championships. Don't get me wrong its great seeing Brady and the other great players we have on O. If we resign Welker, Edelman and keep Lloyd for another year, I only really want to use one pick on a wideout, lets hope we trade out of the first and use one of our seconds to pick up a big physical wideout. But i'd love most of free agency and the draft to be about getting some bang back in our defense, does anyone agree?

i agree with this i think thats why a lot of people on this board and on mock drafts have had us taking matt elam an enforcer player. i personally want to trade down and try and add banks, greene etc and then try and get a physical corner like mathieu in the later rounds

"Bang" in the defense is a lot harder to get away with now. Safeties can't play like Rodney anymore, and CBs can't play like Law.

Kam Chancellor & LaRon Landry still put in the big hits and Revis still plays physical, it's just finding players like those.

Re-sign Talib and add Landry then focus the draft on the DL and the defense *should* look decent to good next season.

why would anyone want that clown after what he said about his visit last year?

Of course that would be the best case scenario. Our championship D averaged like 14ppg given up. Our championship O averaged like 17 ppg scored.

With the way our offense GAGS in the playoffs lately, I am thinking we will need that caliber of defense to win it all. 35 ppg is fun to watch in regular season, but when it gets shut down in the playoffs you need a D that you can lean on.

In the playoffs they're allowed to. Not an excuse and as Bill says you do business as business is being done but Baltimore was allowed to beat the tar out of the Patriots receivers. To his credit Dennard took advantage of it.

No. That would suck balls.

You do realize that Baltimore was "allowed" to do it because of Ray Lewis, right? The league wanted him to go out on top. The problem is that the refs SHOULDN'T be allowing those things to go on in the play-offs.

Revis holds and commits PI on just about every play. But he gets away with it for some reason. Yet, Patriot Corners do the same thing and get called. By the same Ref..

Kam Chancellor is overrated and gets bailed out because he has an elite cover safety next to him, protecting him.

Laron Landry flat out sucks and is so hilariously overrated. He was overrated last year and overrated/bad this year. He is a slower, less athletic, not quite as terrible at angles, version of Pat Chung.

Revis is allowed to commit flagrant pass interference every play because of his name. No one else in the NFL is allowed near the latitude he is given every play of every game where he all but jumps on the back of wide outs.

Does any one not want a fearsome defense?
