Ok guys, whattya think ? I think he could be our poor man's Randy Moss. Long, lanky, fast, red zone target. I think his running a 4.44 a little after a year after blowing out his knee, shows that he's totally recovered. Had a fine season at Tenessee despite having Cordarelle Patterson opposite him, he still led the team in receiving, after blowing out his knee in 2011.
73 rec 1083 yds 9 td's. I doubt he'd last until our 2nd round pick, unless we trade our 1st for a high 2nd and other picks. Whattya think ? Tavon Austin is still my binkie, but I like the idea of Hunter as a Patriot, seems to have all the tools.

BB likes to get input from a players college coach. His buddies; Saban, Meyer, Ferentz and Pat Hill. I remember an article about Les Miles complimenting Stevan Ridley when asked about him. Derek Dooley doesn't sound ready to endorse Justin Hunter in this sound bite.

And Derek Dooley is a coach who's team went 5-7, and he has the nerve to throw his players under the bus to the press. I wouldn't take his input too highly.

Hunter will be gone before 29 never mind late second... Prototypical size, speed and vertical.

I could see Miami, Minnesota, Houston, Seattle and even the Jests going WR in the 1st. Who knows what position the Jests will draft though because they have holes everywhere.

I'll bet that Hunter is the second receiver off the board after Patterson, who I really hope doesnt go to the Jets at 9. Kid is a nightmare in space.

Something like Wheaton in the 2nd after a small tradeback and then Rodgers in the 3rd would make me ecstatic. We get speed and fluid route running from Wheaton and physicality and match up problems on the outside with Rogers.

I don't like Hunter because of the fact that he dropped his weight to 196lbs just to run faster at the Combine.

So, it's your belief that Hunter has moved ahead of Woods, Patton, Austin, Allen, Hopkins, and Williams? Sorry if I'm not inclined to agree with you.

Hunter may have moved into the 1st round, but there are a bunch of O-line, D-line and Safety prospects who bettered themselves at the combine as well..

Don't get me wrong, I like Hunter. But he's not Stephen Hill, A.J. Jenkins or Kendall Wright.

He has the atheticism now he just needs the hands.

Whilst it's still early, this is an endorsement for Hunter,no? :)

Its no secret I'm a big fan of Justin Hunter. I don't usually go for the raw athletic guys (I didn't like Stephan Hill last year), but this guy is different to me. I think his upside is huge and I've said numerous times I think he has the highest potential of any WR since Calvin Johnson. The size, length, athleticism and explosion give him legit #1 WR potential. The thing I like most about him is I believe he has the best combination of talent, upside and value in this draft. Even after the combine he is rated a lot lower than I expected (CBS- #9 WR #59 overall, not in Mike Mayock's top 5, wasn't in someone's top 10 list on NFL Network). I think mid-2nd round would be fantastic value for him, and with the depth in this draft I don't think I would take any WR in the 1st round. If we can trade down about 15 spots, pick up an extra 3rd and draft Hunter in the 2nd and Da'Rick Rogers in the 3rd I would be very happy.

This was actually a mistake by someone on the NFL Network. He actually put on weight before the combine not lost it. I think he played in the 180's last season, but he still needs to add some extra bulk to his frame. I don't think that is an issue though, he should be able to carry 205-210lbs without losing much speed or explosiveness.

Thanks for the info ! During each season, I use my trusty iPhone's note app to write down the names of the guys that impress me. Justin Hunter is near the top, meaning he impressed me early in the season. Little did I know, I'm a pretty good scout, because I have a decent amount of guys in my list, that are rated first rounders.

Hunter has terrific talent, a World-Class long jumper, and 6'4" 200 lbs size is ideal. There are a lot of questions still about the risk of drafting him. Number one, the torn ACL in 2011 still has people wondering if he fully recovered. Blocking abilities, nobody really knows if he can or not. Route running is considered average at best. Could he be a top WR in the NFL and a legitimate deep threat? Yes but nobody right now is sure. I have seen him as high as 60 but he could be available between 80 - 90 because of the ACL injury.

I'd be ecstatic with any 1 of Hunter, Rogers, Wheaton, Hunter, Allen or Woods. 2 & I'm delirious (but 1 would have to be an accomplished route runner such as Wheaton, Allen or Woods).
