The Brady deal raises many questions about what happens with other players, and it increases the likelihood of five more years with Bill Belichick at the helm.

One has to assume a question that Brady asked was, "Is coach going to be here, too?"

If they can average 12 wins per year - including playoffs - Belichick could catch Tom Landry for 3rd all time at age 65 behind only George Halas and Don Shula.

There were rumors about Belichick being under contract for the future, do we know anything that links the length of these two deals?

Good question, not sure, but pretty confident that Mr. Kraft has him under contract as the highest paid coach in the NFL as long as he wants it..

Mr. Kraft knows what is best for this franchise..

BB being third on that list is realistic.. but 63 wins is a long way to go.

Decades from now, some unsuspecting intern is going to come in bright and early some morning to find Belichick dead in the film room. He may no longer be head coach, but this isn't the type of guy that is going to retire to play golf or hang out with the grandkids. As kids he and Ernie used to break into the BC film room to study film. What is Belichicks Job? Head coach. What does he do for fun? Break down film. What does he do to relax? Break down more film. What is he going to retire to?

Coach loves the Cape, his woman, his family, and his boat. Contrary to popular belief, he knows how to relax very well. That being said, he's not going to give up coaching anytime soon, IMHO.

He also plays in the Pebble Beach Pro Am every year.. last year he was paired with Nick Saban, not sure this year..

Hopefully, before he retires, he changes the name of the boat one more time.

BB has explicitly said he doesn't want to coach forever (referencing Marv Levy, IIRC).

I think some of that is lip service. I don't doubt that he will step down from head coach someday but I don't ever see him fully removing himself.

I doubt they need a middleman for this kind of conversation. I'm guessing they likely have these conversations directly and are pretty familiar with each other's plan.

Half baked prediction:

BB will retire to an Ernie Adams type role for his Son's tenure as a coach.

Bill Belichick will see more opportunities to exploit on film as a dead coach than Rex Ryan will ever see as an alive coach.
