I'm interested. Could come for JAG money yet has potential to be much more than just a JAG.

Donald Jones interests me as well.

Doesn't fit schematically and is a pretty horrible route runner. He's more of a pass catching TE who can't block and can only run seam routes than anything.

Though IIRC he did kill us in both games, so might be another Welker situation where BB goes after a guy who has played well against us.

Here he is with his brother, Ricky.

PWP, you are getting slow.

Well I think the coach thought he did fit in, "schematically" then they wouldn't have reached out to him and try to sign him. Nice red zone option big target and has that Florida connection.

Not sure I agree with this, though I can't attest to his route running. He's been very productive in the slot when healthy. I'd say he's more of a 6'5 slot receiver than he is a pass-catching TE.

He's another good YAC guy, he's a big target, would provide some depth for the roles that Hernandez/Welker/Edelman all fit. I think he makes a lot of sense as a FA option, though he's still not an answer to the question of how we get better on the perimeter.

At one time Moss wouldn't have fit schematically but they adjusted.

I'm just saying it would mean a change in philosophy or they think they could get him for dirt cheap and paying him would be worth the 4 TDs they'd get out of him in a season and as a backup to Hernandez.

Respectfully, I'm calling bull***** that you have enough knowledge of him as a player to make either of these statements with any certainty. He is by no means a spectacular performer but seemed to be ascending as a young WR before he hurt himself. Would be an worthwhile addition, IMO, and could be another 3rd down and red zone weapon for TB12. He may take a one year "prove it" contract for relatively short money. It would be hard to say no to BB twice.

he ran a 4.49 40 time thats not really TE.. Also 6'5 217 is extremely slender hardly TE size. He is just a tall lanky WR with good potential at a low cost IMO.

Give me a wr that does not go to the ground like Brandon L. does after every catch. Nelson killed us twice this year and I like the big target and a wr who will go up and fight for the ball.

I like Nelson and think he would be a nice signing on the cheap.

Impossible for Nelson to kill the Pats twice this year since he went on IR after tearing his ACL in week 1 against the Jets.

Sounds like you are confusing him with Scott Chandler.

If he comes in dirt cheap, I would pick him up for depth purposes. But I really want to see the team look to the first two rounds of the draft for a receiver regardless of whether or not Nelson comes aboard.

If he saw a "Greater opportunity with the Bills"....he doesn't sound intelligent enough to play for the Patriots :))

One little tidbit that I did not realize about Nelson:

WR Nelson worthy of Pats' attention - New England Patriots Blog - espnBoston
1. They targeted him before. When Nelson went undrafted in 2010, he received phone calls after the draft from two head coaches – then-Bills coach Chan Gailey and Patriots coach Bill Belichick. The Patriots were hoping to sign Nelson as part of their rookie free agent class, but Nelson saw a greater opportunity with the Bills.
