Mike Wallace in Miami?

Looks like top priority over jennings despite price. Would have to face him twice a year but with tannehill still being new in the league.. i wouldn't be worried for a few years. Plus Wallace likes to have the dropsies every now and then

I don't blame the Dolphins for wanting him over Jennings. Jennings has been injury prone the last few seasons and Wallace is still young. They'll overpay, but why should we care about that?

That’s why free agency is so important. By re-signing Hartline (which by all appearances the team is trying to do before he hits the open market) and then adding a Mike Wallace or Greg Jennings, it would open up all kinds of possibilities in the draft.

Wallace is expected to fetch in excess of $10 million annually — a steep price, but one the Dolphins probably need to pay, according one league personnel evaluator. Even if Wallace does nothing but run go-routes, the source said, he’ll be worth the investment if he catches 12 touchdown passes and 1,400 yards for the Dolphins.

The team, according to reports yesterday, will target Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Mike Wallace as their top priority in free agency, looking to add much needed speed to the offense. While Wallace is one of the top free agents this year, he also comes with baggage.Wallace has the same problem that infuriated Dolphins fans for the two seasons Chicago Bears wide receiver Brandon Marshall was in Miami - drops. 5 picks in the top 3 rounds in addition to their 40 million in cap room should definitely make them better, even if they only hit on 50/50. I think we'd all be shocked if they didn't bring in either Wallace or Jennings, and then probably added another top round WR in the draft with one of their top couple/few selections. That could improve their WR position dramatically.

This is definitely Ireland's best chance and last chance at turning the team around. We'll see if he's able to do that, but I think there's nowhere to go but up.

Yet people have the gall to demean Welker's production and likely salary demand despite showing no sign of slowing down. If Jennings and Wallace are 12 and 14 guys then Welker is an 18 million man.

That's the first thing that came to my mind too. As good as it is making Welker look here, he's also a much more affordable option, and really more consistent and durable too, with better production as an option for any of the potential landing spots.

My worry is that Belichick and his evaluation process in deciding the ultimate value on Welker will probably not change too much if any, so all of these other outside circumstances such as what these receivers want aren't going to matter any to Bill as far as coming up too much on his offer.

It could also allow Welker to realize that he needs to stand firm with his demands, since they aren't nearly as steep. It may even push him towards coming up a bit in price, although that's debatable. It probably isn't doing much to make him think that he is unreasonable though, or making him think twice about meeting the front office in the middle any.

In the meantime, Welker may be looking more and more of an option as certain teams' first choice when you set aside the Miami's and Team X's of the world looking for big fast receivers like Wallace/Jennings, so the price driving of both Wallce/Jennings could really be hurting our chances of keeping Welker in multiple ways.
