Dennard Jury has a verdict

Doing a quick google search and looking at some law forums it appears in most states it depends on the details of the case and the defendant's prior record. It can go down as a misdemeanor, gross misdemeanor or felony. If they go the felony route it's a year minimum so hopefully they don't go that route.

I see him serving minimal time.... 30-60 days.... in time back for pre-season if not before that.

See the links I posted above for Nebraska.

Is there a chance the Patriots would release him if he gets a significant amount of jail time?

Possible, absolutely.

Likely? Who knows.

he won't serve 6 years..hell he probably won't even serve 6 months.

How long will the NFL suspend him now after he does his time if he does any

I am sure he would fight the suspension because he wasn't in the league when the assault happened.

Sound the Talib siren time to shell out the big bucks or the franchise tag Bill we're on route to 2008 Deltha O'Neal territory right now if we have no Dennard or Talib.

Wow! I guess there were no football fans on that jury! Unbelievable!

It's important to remember that the sentencing judge routinely has career felons in his court room who don't get max sentences. Assuming Dennard has no record it's highly doubtful the judge will impose any type of significant jail time to a fully employed person who made a one time F-up and is otherwise a law abiding citizen.

Remember all the complaining we used to do about Ellis Hobbs? Things look alot worse now. Who are our starting CB's right now without Talib, Dennard, and Arrington? Marquis Cole and McCourty? Yikes.

This secondary as of right now (with alot of unknowns, obviously) might make us miss Duane Starks.

I'm not sure how Nebraska's system works, but I don't expect Dennard to miss any time this upcoming season. It would seem more likely that either the sentence will be light or he'll appeal.

It depends on how foul a mood the judge is in...
